Treyarch Says “We’re Not Talking About” Black Ops 2 For Wii U

Mark Lamia, head of Black Ops 2 developer Treyarch, is determined to keep quiet on Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, even though the game was revealed yesterday for Wii U. However, Lamia does say that Wii U would be a more than suitable platform for Black Ops 2 due to the sheer horsepower of the machine, and its secondary Pro controller.

“It’s difficult to say because it’s something we’re not talking about. I’m intentionally being elusive because we’re not talking about it,” he said.

“We obviously have been a Nintendo developer for many years and have created many Call of Duty games on the Nintendo platform. [Wii U] is clearly a more powerful platform than its predecessor and they have obviously a unique controller and interface.”

“And they announced a Pro Controller which appears to be a controller that would be really good for first person shooter games. It just so happens that’s what we specialize in. So that’s an interesting development.”

“We take out time to get our ducks in a row before pulling any trigger. We don’t have announcements today but we will be supporting Wii U,”

            1. Are you stupid?

Fish are meat, since they are ANIMAL!!!!

You need to stay in school and pay more attention to your teachers.

              1. Fish are meat. If you use the religious definition as for lent, they aren’t, but in life we use the scientific definition and fish is therefore a meat. It depends on your definition.

              1. I’ve always wondered, how the hell is fish not meat? It’s the flesh of an animal isn’t it? Last I checked, we call that meat. Also I think vegetarians eat fish, it’s vegans that don’t eat or use any animal based products.

              2. My brothers girlfriend is a vegetarian. She eats fish, as well as eggs. It depends on your beliefs. To a lot of people not all animal products are meat.

  1. Treyarch can take their crappy game and publish it exclusively for the 360 since the audience is there.

The Call of Duty game is a plague that must be avoided at all cost since it is hurting the video game industry.

How exactly is Call of Duty a plague? It is not like if the new Call of Duty didn’t came out the people spending 60 dollars on it would go buy a better game like Mario or Zelda, they most likely would just keep playing the last Call of Duty and not buy a game at all, so it is not like it is leaching money from other companies. And while the high DLC prices are starting a rather bad trend, it’s not as bad as DRM, online passes, or any of the on disk shit that companies like Capcom are doing.

    2. Not true ps3 and wii owners play ALOT of cod too . Just because you think the 360 is the main platform doesnt mean anyone else does

  2. but it sounds like they will give ninty a lot of support … but i do not play cod… i just think it is not fun.. well it is but i have better games

      1. it’s already popular enough, that’s my point. we don’t need even more reminders that it sells way too many copies.

        1. Its a popular game that alot of people enjoy . The games are fun for me . But if they arent for u thats fine too . The more games the wii u gets the better especislly cod since it sells so well

  3. even if you don’t like the COD series, you have to admit it’s a very good thing it’s coming to Wii U. It could move a lot of hardware and show the power of Wii U’s online capabilities. Leave luck to heaven.

  4. Whether you like Call of Duty or not, stop complaining about it and look at the big picture. If AAA and insanely popular games like COD and Battlefield are released on the Wii U, it’ll become a more attractive platform for publishers. Even if it seems shallow to do so (if you really hate COD that much), just think of the advantages. The more gamers acquire a Wii U, the bigger the market, and the more companies will risk releasing stuff like Watch Dogs, etc on said console.

Yes, the Wii had shitty FPS ports for those games, but it’s not quite the same thing. There was no proper love (:p) given to those ports. In many ways it’s like an iOS version of major games, just an aside.

  6. NOW xbox/ps fanboys don’t care about COD on Wii U.
This is mainly because Nintendo’s reputation kinda went to shit for the mainstream hardcore (Read VIOLENT. First party Nintendo titles like Mario, Zelda, Metroid, etc are as challenging if not MORE challenging than many of those ultra-violent or “realistic” games like COD, battlefield, god of war, etc) gamers. Their short memories seem to forget that if anything, the Wii was an anomaly for Nintendo, and that Nintendo was responsible for pioneering on its consoles just about every type of game and gameplay that those “hardcore” gamers adore. Every famous console FPS only exists because of games like 007 Goldeneye on N64 that more or less defined modern shooters both on consoles and on PC. My point to this is that in 1 generation ( though you could argue it started with the overabundance of bright and colorful N64 games ) Nintendo completely and utterly lost its credibility as anything but a Nintendo first party and casual game console.
This is something that absolutely has to get fixed. not because I care that much about AAA third party games on the Nintendo (though I sure would love it).
The Wii might have had COD, but it was a watered down shitty ass port, not even remotely close to the versions on other platforms. While initially the AAA 3rd party games on the Wii U like AC3, BA, Aliens, etc might meet resistance from those people who lost or never learned respect for Nintendo, after a while it will still have an effect. If the Wii U releases are as good or (and considering how game devs keep talking about the Wii U as a “powerful, powerful” machine, with “a LOT of horsepower”) better than the other platforms, the Wii U will have a crucial period until PS4’s and Xbox720’s release to win the hearts and minds of those lost or new “hardcore” fans. This is more important than just having more AAA games, it means more consoles sold, more CONFIDENCE in the Wii U, more INVESTMENT in the Wii U, etc. All this leads to not only having more INNOVATIVE games on the Wii U (since if more games are made in general, there’s more chance for there to be unique and different games amongst those), but also gives Nintendo the confidence and money to MAKE more, and more qualitative games for the Wii U.
The presence of these 3rd party titles on an equal or superior quality level to the competition’s will also make pure-Nintendo fans all the richer.

  7. Better be they release Black Ops II for WiiU, COD has many fans on the Nintendo platforms, The Wii ones sold more than 1 million…
