Amazon.co.uk recently listed the Wii U console for £199.99, which made the console jump to the top of the “Bestsellers in PC & Video Games” list on the website. The Wii U is the top preordered item from ShopTo, which is currently pricing the Wii U at £279.85. Amazon.co.uk already removed their price tag of the Wii U console – did you place a preorder while it was priced at £199.99?
I did not but Im interested to see how this goes down. Amazon has enough money to sell it at that price and just make the cash back through games without a single fear.
I assumed it was a mistake and that’s why it was taken down. If its top of the pre-order chart does that mean they just sold out already? I’ve got mine pre-ordered regardless.
Amazon takes a hit on its eBooks. Why not do the same for the console. Its not an uncommon tactic and I wouldn’t be to shocked if its a case of they have sold out there allocation already.
If it was an error, that wouldn’t be surprising either.

I don’t expect it to stay like that (especially since the date on it still says July 14th, so they will likely see the date is incorrect and then cancel it on the date or something – but I have proof of purchase form an email from them and print screens of my order and the page before they changed it so argueably I could get them to stick to it in the future) I should also clarify mine was at £202.02 due to me picking first class postage – but that extra £2.03 is nothing compared to how much I may have saved.
And I can cancell it later if I want too – I am really happy I stayed up a little while longer before going to bed to see this deal. Sorry that you missed it though. Hope the final price of the machine is still within your budget.

the only thing I’ve ever pre-ordered in my life was skyward sword. the hype was so much that I couldn’t help myself hahaha. I was satisfied in the end though cause the game was beast.

No, they don’t. They listing was made in error, they removed it and contacted everyone who bought it to re-order when it is made available again.
