Sega has confirmed that its closing five European offices this year, and will focus its efforts on its best-selling franchises such as Sonic, Football Manager, Aliens and Total War. The company has also revealed that it will still continue to push its digital offerings.
“At the moment for us those are the four IPs we are talking about, they are our AAA IP. At the moment we are looking into options of course, but it’s not like we are already developing some other titles in addition to that, no.”
“It’s a focus on those four core IP, and in addition to that we’ll have digital. And digital still means 50 – 75 releases every year, so that’s still a big number.”

Fuck you! sega makes great IP’s and great hardware, the problem now is they are trying really hard to make IP’s that make money in order to keep their teams together and make more games, so rushing titles is obviously going to hurt them..
Not like they focused on shooters, and sport titles..
If they had more time and money, they would make great new IP titles like phantasy star online, Jet grind radio, space channel, samba, and a shit load of other IP’s
Imagine this, they have no other way to keep their staff paid, so they need to focus on quick cash in’s, and then if they make new ip’s and it fails, they’ll only hurt their own company more.
There is a reason why nintendo included sonic in smash bros, Sega is a great company, and this same problem could be nintendo one day you ignorant fanboy!
I love nintendo, but sega like nintendo is one of the true companies that shaped the way for consoles today.
I hope Nintendo buys out sega, they could use all of their IP’s, and with their help they could make Sega’s IP’s work.

I’m waiting for that game too! (So not gonna happen though) I grew up playing Sonic games and I really enjoyed the series. I don’t touch Sonic anymore though. (What was the last Sonic game that came out again?) I really enjoyed SA and SA2B! I hope they make a SA3!! :D (Has no hopes for the game)
I was expecting some hate when I wrote that because apparently the 3D one are looked down upon. Good I’m not the only one. It sucks there’s no hope for the game though. Oh I can still look back fondly on SA2B for the gamecube. Exellent game.

Sonic 4 Episode 2 wasn’t bad either. Unleashed was what broke the Sonic Cycle, at least for me anyway.

GOOD! Means they can stop making shitty movie games like Iron Man, and focus on good Sonic games and others, which they can do, and proved it.

I knew Sonic would stay and I’m glad of that because if SEGA stopped with Sonic hundred’s of fans including me would be really p****d and also if there was no Sonic SEGA would be out of business.
Also I wish SEGA would make another Samba de Amigo game but I know they won’t as only SEGA fans would buy it and know one else would as they proabley haven’t even heard of it and I know as I have asked lot’s of people at my school and they haven’t ever heard of it at all, but I shouldn’t be surprised as proabley around 90% of them play FPS, Xbox 360 & PS3 only.
