New Console Looks Very Similar To Nintendo 3DS & Wii U GamePad

Chinese company Jin Xing has announced a new handheld gaming device, the JXD S5100, which will be powered by Android 2.3.4. It was revealed a week after Nintendo confirmed that they will be releasing a Nintendo 3DS XL. As you can see from the picture above, the JXD S5100 shares a strikingly similar resemblance to a 3DS and a Wii U GamePad. A release date is not yet confirmed for the JXD S5100.

    1. Hopefully nintendo have some patents to help stop this sort of thing… ie circle pad patent
      button/light layouts
it looks like a nice product, but i think they’ve maybe crossed the line?

        1. They actually do. Since Nintendo sued a company in china because of a mario kart wii clone. The chinese dont follow it but they do exist. It only took Nintendo 2 days to realise the BLATANT clone. Literally everything about it was copied they didnt even bother changing the courses haha.

          1. They should Sue Sony too for All Stars. Oh don’t forget about the company that owned the name iPad in china they sued Apple.

            1. Uh no that is inspired not taken. Look at Cartoon Network, Dreamix(konami fighting game), Ninja Turtles, Jump Star, and other. Playstation Allstars is basically inspired by successful fighting games.
              Street Fighter
              Mortal Kombat
              Super Smash Bros
              Tekken

              1. Just because you listed a bunch of fighting games doesn’t mean they all inspired each other. That’s like saying Sony makes the best games and then attempting to justify it by listing every damn game Sony made. That’s fucking stupid.

            2. Nendo can’t sue Sony for All Stars Battle Royale because multiplayer brawl games like Super Smash arent patented by Nintendo. I hate the game as much as the next Nintendo fan but sueing Sony isnt the answer. I am sure Sony will find out soon enough tha the game wont sell as much as SSB and will not get a sequel.

          2. God dammit I could’ve sworn someone told me that they didn’t exist. Oh well, just me being stupid again :D

              1. I bring shame to family if I get anything under a 98 on a test…

Now ancestry bring shame to me…

      1. It kinda feels weird, I live in Hong Kong, and I’m obviously on Nintendo’s side judging that I am on this page. It…feels weird..

  1. This is a joke lol

Not just “looks similar to the 3DS and WiiU” but that an iOS and Android and…You get the point…

    One hell of a lawsuit.

    1. No, it clearly does not look like the iPhone or an Android phone. Now you’re just overgeneralizing because you can’t tell the difference.

    1. What? Sony does not… Oh wait you were joking. I knew from the starts
(Just in case you think I am not a Sony fan based boy… Fan based boy… strange name)

    2. OHMERGERD YOU SERD SERMTHIN BAD BERT SOERNY!!! AGMEGHEGOWERJFHEAWGOERWR!!!! SERNY MAERKES AERSERME GAERMES!!!!!!DFAFAGERWAG

          1. Lol, its probably alba or sickr XD

this message will Self Destruct in… 3…2…1

            (go Mod, delete now)

          2. I keep an eye on it, its an exciting time for a nintendo fan, theres tons of news, for games, 3DS and WiiU. Im not the only one, theres alot regular members.
Whats sad is when trolls are on here more than we are

      1. There was a mario kart wii Clone. It was copied to the M in Mario :P youtube it and prepare to be shocked!

      1. He means the icons in the center left and right that are literally some of the exact same icons that are in iOS. (i.e. From left to right: Videos, iTunes, Camera, Photos).

  2. If you want me, I’ll be over here, playing on my Popstation and watching an animated titanic movie.

  3. If it was only for the external appearence… but take a look at the app icons as well.

    APPLE, APPLE, APPLE, APPLE, APPLE

  4. I think it’s safe to say this isn’t just coincidence. It’s pretty much a dead giveaway, the design seems to have been heavily influenced by the Wii U. However, the device seems to be going in a completely different direction than Wii U, as this handheld seems to aim more at being a smartphone-like gaming handheld, whereas the Wii U and 3DS intend to create identities of their own rather than being similar to something people already bought, though I’m sure Nintendrones will soon begin to flamewar about how they ripped off Nintendo, as they usually do.

  5. Havent people seen remote controls that have very similar layout and use? Wouldn’t that save in design, cost, etc., so, this and other products we’ve seen in the past shouldn’t really be all that surprising or rip-off-like.

It is what it is. A JXD S5100, you guys! XD
Like the core builders dishing out their own version. Think about it. :)

  6. wtf… how can they rip off the 3DS and Wii U like this?!?! It looks like a piece of crap and wow what a brilliant name I’m sure that’ll catch on ….

  7. If it was only for the external appearence… but take a look at the apps and icons.

APPLE, APPLE, APPLE, APPLE, APPLE, APPLE, APPLE, APPLE

    1. And, I gotta admit that it is a common practice among mp3 players, android apps, etc. as well, but…

  8. TylerTheNintendoNerd

Can you say, Cheap Chinese knockoff? China knockoffs everything these days in the cheapest and most unreliable way. -_-

  9. It’s not like this going to do anything remotely even noticable to Nintendo. It’s just another cheap China knock-off and it will fade into obscurity like the rest.

  10. This isn’t really surprising. China has been doing things like this for years it was only a matter of time.

  11. Ok, i know companies steal from each other, but this is fucking joke. Its EXACTLY like a 3DS without the top screen….

  12. Pingback: Last Post WINS! - Page 1146 - Nintendo 3DS Forums

    1. Lol, jk. But when I first read it I honestly thought it was Sony’s doing and just Alba overreacting.. But then I saw it was chinese and I was like lolololololololol

  13. So it’s a 3ds XL without a top screen and instead playing android games. If I wanted to I could easily do the exact same thing by putting an emulator on my 3ds. =P

  14. Maybe that is why Nintendo has so much money? Sell excess parts to Chinese companies to manufacture their own systems… They freaking make all of Nintendo’s systems anyways… this thing looks like it was mocked up out of 3DS parts… Maybe Nintendo gets a cut of the sales?

  15. This cant be real, it looks to damn close to the wii u, if it is real we will just have another copycat in the game business.

    1. Did you even bother reading the “article” before posting, or did you just read the headline and look at the picture. It’s Chinese! China copies everyone, it’s nothing new.

      1. Yes, i did read it i read the damn article before looked at the headline, so stfu and get off my back you homo.

        1. Fuck you. Damn you to hell you fucking homophobic bastard. Seriously, I try and keep calm but it’s fuckers like you, with no thought for other peoples feelings, who make me sad to be alive. Seriously, why don’t you just go and die? People as ignorant for other human beings as you deserves to.

          1. I’ll apologize for my actions before, but was damn you to hell part called? I just hate when tell me i need to something when i already done, like i said before i apologize for earler i just got ticked off really bad

  16. I have translated the company name from chinese to english

    Jin Xing ——–> microsoft

next they will be saying that the wii u is just a 360 with smartglass

    1. They have already said that. Nintendo is the benchmark. Other companies should just get over it and accept it.

      1. Beyond the tablet controller, Miiverse and slightly better graphics, it does become pretty apparent that Nintendo has taken a few kicks in the teeth from the Xbox that lead to some ideas in the Wii U. I’m not saying they copied in the same way Microsoft and Sony have in the past, I just think that it’s unfair to say everything they do is original.

      1. It’s a fact, not racism. China has completely sold its soul to money since forever. It had no sense of pride ever since it decided that communism was a good idea.

  17. Uhm… wow. Even I can’t vouch for that. It’s a terrible copy of the Wii U game pad, it has most of the same basic features and everything! That’s just… bad.

  18. COOL NINTENDO GIRL

Seriously, who cares about Chinese knock-off consoles?

Its been going on since the NES and its never hurt anyone as Nintendo dont officially sell console in China anyway. So Nintendo arent losing money or sales as you cant buy a real Nintendo console in China without importing at stupidly expensive prices from independent Japanese retailers.
If you live in China you either buy a cheap clone console, or you do without a console.

Nintendo created this problem themselves by not having an official console sales strategy for China. If real Nintendo consoles were available at SENSIBLE, COMPETITIVE prices, people wouldnt have to buy pirate stuff.

    1. COOL NINTENDO GIRL

I bet half of the people here complaining about Chinese clones owns at least one R4 flashcart.

But they just dont have the balls to admit it…

        1. COOL NINTENDO GIRL

Yeah right, you like throwing your parents money at branded companies.

You probably just dont have the brains to obtain and install an R4 … but if you like wasting money, thats your loss.

          1. So you’re saying… That we can’t complain because we all have R4 cards… Yet are too stupid to obtain them. No honey, we just have respect. Respect for developers, publishers and, you know, the law.

          2. The fact that you go out of your way to own something that does cheap copying doesn’t make you smart. It only reflects you as a cheap ass loser who settles only for knockoffs.

  19. Wow. Everyone, look at this breaking news! A CHINESE COMPANY IS RELEASING A CLONE OF ANOTHER WESTERN DEVICE! Shock horror! While I doubt it’s news, this is a perticularly bad clone. Look at it! If you see the icons on the screen, it looks like an iPad that has been in a car crash with the 3DS XL. Still, nothing compared to some of the iPhone clones out there. I would hate to be a Chinese child with non-tech savvy parents on new year. Frightful stuff. I can’t decide what’s more of a travesty, Tibet or the iBiscuit.

        1. The sarcasm is not the problem. It’s the facts which he screwed up.

And it’s something you evidently failed to recognize. Man, you suck really hard.

  20. This looks like someone took a Nintendo game pad, removed one joystick, and replaced the screen with an iphone.

    1. COOL NINTENDO GIRL

Dont be stupid, they sell thousands of these things.

Thats the point of cheap clones = $€£

      1. Do you have to take everything literally? Fine then, allow me to edit that.

*And then only idiots bought it.*

        That better?

    1. COOL NINTENDO GIRL

Do you ever look at the stickers on consoles?

      Or cant you read?

      MADE IN CHINA
      MADE IN MALAYSIA

Just because a company is Japanese doesnt mean its all made in Japan. They always outsource because its cheaper to make.

      Cheapest labour
      Cheapest parts
      Cheapest materials

And there is your economics lesson for today.

      1. Oh, I am sorry, I didn’t imagine there would be stupid people who wouldn’t get a simple joke. My bad.

  21. I get jokes … but your post being more of a retarded statement, and not really funny, leads me to believe that it failed in any possible way to be a credible joke.

Your lame deflection attempts also = FAIL

Please harder next time, as even the smallest attempt at a credible challenge would be appreciated.

      1. I guess getting owned by a girl has shorted your circuitry.

please dis-engage “angry mode” and get a coffee.
        No need to argue.

  22. Guys, it’s a Chinese handheld emulator. There is a whole community devoted to these little devices and they’ve been making them for years. Most of them have looked like GB Micros (the Dingoo A320, for example) or PSPs/Vitas. This thing looks like a 3DS/Wii U because that is what is popular at the moment. They are made to run Android or their own OS and most people use them to play emulators from Atari 2600 to PS1/N64 on the go. This is NOT an attempt to compete with the 3DS OR Vita OR Wii U, it is a neat device for technology lovers.

    1. I said somebody would mention emulation sooner or later ….

      +1

because you had the balls to say what everybody else here wont admit.

  23. Has anyone noticed that the iTunes, camera, gallery and video icons are used in the image when it clearly states that it is an android device not an iOS device.

    1. You raise a fair point

But none of us will buy (or even see) one of these things in real life anyway … so who cares?

    2. Yes, androids use different themes. You can actually download Apple themes, Windows Phone themes, and I think I’ve seen Nintendo themes aswell.

  24. This is frikin China. Clones have been existent ever since the introduction of Famiclones! One of the original devices released in China was the iQue Player! And that was just a N64 for China! Stop being suprised, clones have been around, again, since Famiclones. And this is China, not Japan or NA. Sales are not huge there.

Also, when will sickr go back to posting articles? Alba always posts articles, and it usually causes hate. Starting to un-trust this site, and go back to K-Wing. Besides, the titles are sometimes incorrect.

  25. Oh my god, that is just too similar! I mean, it looks like those dimwits just ripped the buttons and the Control pad off of a Wii U or 3DS controller!

  29. While Evil Zone didn’t do anything groundbreaking in terms of its mechanics as a fighting game, it definitely has a permanent spot as one of the most unique ones out there.
While these have only just been announced
and their basic feature set we have at the bottom
of this page the Wasabi ps1 emulator looks like it will be a decent product for the ps1
emulator Slim owners out there. Next, you will need compatible drivers in order for it to work with your PC.
