According to a NeoGAF user, although the Wii U will be released this year, Nintendo is focusing on the forthcoming Nintendo 3DS XL. The Nintendo 3DS XL and New Super Mario Bros. 2 will be released in North America on the same day, August 19th, which is being considered a re-launch for the Nintendo 3DS. After the Nintendo 3DS XL settles down, Nintendo will shift its focus toward Wii U and its future.

From what I’m hearing, alot of people seem to think that we might see another Direct in September, where the big N will reveal price and date. This, to me, is looking more and more likely. That would give the retailers enough time to advertise and whatnot prior to a November launch.

Retro’s game, 2 of EA’s games, 2 other multiplat games that got mentioned in a previous article (a driving one and a FPS/3PS), credible reporters from Official Nhntendo Magazine ect said they got hands on with games not revealed at E3. Of course, a couple of these games could be the same one, but they’re there
Oh, and the game using CryEngine3 from a “respected developer”
I have a very strong feeling that there are still quite a few unannounced titles from both Nintendo themselves and other 3rd party developers that are still floating around waiting to be revealed…. I can only hope that they start releasing some news soon!

I want to hear more about the WiiU’s “achievements/trophies”. On the ps3 they’re an awesome idea, not just as bragging rights (18 platinums right hear ;D ) but it give you a challenge to really get the most of the game like Deus Ex 3’s pacifist trophy where you go through the whole game killing no-one.
But the WiiU’s apparently unlocked you extra in game, like multiplayer skins, avatars, ect

I’d actually like coins to be part of the achievements system. Based on the difficulty of the task, the player earns an appropriate coin prize. This is, of course, in addition to walking with your 3DS and filling out surveys on Club Nintendo (I’m unifying the two coins here). They can be used for in-game content, app content and games/prizes on Club Nintendo.
The player could also wage as a spectator of online matches or play for them in tournaments , requiring a small coin entry fee. Nintendo could also hold contests (not unlike the ones Nintendo Power held), also requiring a small coin fee.
I’ll look forward to this Fall’s Nintendo Direct announcement from either Nintendo President Iwata or The Regginator.
