Capcom Reveals Monster Hunter Ultimate Information For Wii U And Nintendo 3DS

Capcom, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of video games, today confirmed that Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate will be launching on Nintendo’s Wii U console and Nintendo 3DS system across Europe and North America in March 2013.

The popular fantasy action franchise Monster Hunter is now one of the most iconic gaming series in the world selling over 21 million copies worldwide since the series began in 2004. Players take on the role of a hunter and are sent to explore a settlement within the Monster Hunter universe, completing quests on their journey to seek and slay monsters whilst improving their skills and earning equipment upgrades. With many challenging monsters and over 200 quests the latest edition to the series is set to be the most expansive offering to date.

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate utilises the functionalities of the Wii U console and Nintendo 3DS system to provide players with a truly intuitive hunting experience. The touch screen feature of both platforms allows players to quickly access in-game books, weapons, field maps and mini games whilst the high quality graphics of Wii U and 3D visuals of Nintendo 3DS powered by the latest iteration of Capcom’s MT Framework deliver a unique and stunning world for players to explore. Taking advantage of the portability of Nintendo 3DS, players can exchange their guild card that contains all their hunter’s information with other players via StreetPass.

Players can experience the world of Monster Hunter alone or in four player local play using Nintendo 3DS. Finding nearby hunters to adventure on quests with is now even easier via the local Nintendo 3DS search feature. Wii U players will be able to enjoy the hunt with Nintendo 3DS players via a local wireless connection. Gamers that own both a Wii U and Nintendo 3DS can take advantage of the inter compatibility of save data between the two consoles, taking the hunt from the living room wherever they go.

      1. I guess 3DS and Wii U can do that playing away from the console too. Like the Vita and PS3. I will ge t this game on day one =)

  1. Awesome sauce. So is this game a brand new one, or a HD one, or what?
And will the 3DS game be different to the WiiU version?

    1. Accurate prediction , Exactly the same world layout and structure . same items , etc etc etc all the same (same game) . wiiu version is a lot more pretty is in full HD and has added effect’s .the 3ds version looks like monster hunter tri in 3d !!!

      1. OH , and the wiiu version is online with miiverse integration and all that , and the 3ds is a street pass local playdevice capable of using as a controller for wiiu or something .

In other words = the world’s best ever gaming set up .

  2. I’m still waiting for the unannounced game, but then again i shouldn’t have listened to a tv show that only produces 2 shows every 3 months…..

    1. Wow, R U for real?
Why cant you be happy with this for now?
MH4 isn’t even completed yet and you wanna get on their case already. Just do your part by adding to sales and enjoy the game.

But if this will shut you up, it is very likely that we will get 4 based on the lengths an efforts CAPCOM have gone through to give us online and a console copy of 3G. So stop being a SCRUB and be patient!

  3. QUESTION TIME AGAIN

What HDD should i get for wii U? I mean, what brand and what usb should the HDD have? Some say 3.0 usb and others say 2.0 usb. What does it mean and which should i get? preferrably from amazon please!

  4. I guess no online play for 3DS then… ARE U KIDDING ME CAPCOM!!!! Online play is a huge feature in this series!! Why aren’t you bringing it to handhelds!!!!!!!

    1. Calm your ass down down, it’s not final that there isn’t cause they didn’t say there is gonna be online for the 3DS but they also said there isn’t gonna be as well

      1. Wait, so the announcement that the Playstation Vita is going to be rsleaeed at the same price point and that will likely spur a price drop for the 3DS didn’t give you buyers remorse, but Nintendo announcing a new color does?More power to you, I guess.

  5. I’m glad nintendo is using this feature. Even if it does mean they are copying its still awesome because borrowed ideas from others can really help add to the experience. This is a great idea. Ill probably get the 3DS version. I’m also excited to see what changes they’ve made to the MT framework mobile engine. Revelations looked beautiful for a handheld game. So I expect this game to look awesome as well!

  6. Ha ha, I love it when i’m right (smug face) I called this news before E3.

Great news. Has really made my year. Will be buying a WiiU for this along with a copy for my 3Ds xD
