A number of readers have emailed to say that GameStop is expecting limited amounts of Wii U Premium consoles in the United States. Several store managers have told people that the Premium is limited due to stock, and that they are gonna stop accepting pre-orders for it very soon. The Basic set would be the only one available to pre-order when that happens. One of the store managers said those that are interested in the Premium package should pre-order it now.

It’s interesting how Nintendo has made the two bundles different colors . They expect hardcore will buy black and families will buy white . Maybe some hardcore want a white one , although it’s less likely…

@nintedward not the case my friend. I pre-ordered black. Anyways it is not a likely case because, even though it’s a wii u, your get more in the deluxe for 50 more. Look at it like this Nintendo Land is a wii u game, wii u games run for 59.99, + your getting stands and extra storage, so for $50 more you get maybe $150+ worth of items.

you do know its not GameStop’s fault right? Its that Nintendo can’t produce enough. Happened with the Wii also. Wasn’t the stores fault they couldn’t keep enough on hand. Nintendo and the retailers did what they could.

not true i went to nintendo world and they have more than enough deluxe wii-u’s. gamestop like to hold and limit regular bundles and make there own bundles from the basic model and charge more $$$

I was second in mine as well. I watched the press conference before I went to class and when class let out, I drove straight to Gamestop down the street from my house and preordered the Deluxe Set and NSMBU and paid it off right there.
Also pre-ordered and the manager said I was the last person they accepted for the premium. The Chicago district filled up by the thousands in one day, according to one of the managers

Only times Pachter is right is when he makes a statement that fans already considered. We of course didn’t predict in numbers, but we knew it was going to be epic and many people would want one. All he did was come up with some numbers and added prior knowledge.

What lesson, it manufacturing problems. Only way to avoid’em is to make them a while before, but the problem was they had no price or release date therefore they would have started stacking up in the factory, because they would have no were to go sense the retailers couldn’t get them yet. And then another problem would have been, if they did start early and let them stack up the release dates would have been different…
Good thing I pre-ordered mine yesterday as soon as pre-orders were announced.

Pre-order online and they will not charge you until the day it is shipped. Or pre-order online, pick store pick-up and they will not charge you until you go into the store and pick up your system.

This is an elementary marketing tactic. Reduce supply to inflate the illusion of demand. A lot of companies do it, especially tech companies. This way, people are more likely to pre-order and pre-order early.
Shouldn’t worry though. After the first few shipments through the holiday season, the stores will be overflowing.
Knowing Nintendo this is no illusion and the Wii U will be totally worth it :)
There will be a demand for sure, but Nintendo is purposely not putting as much of the product out. More can be manufactured. It’s all about marketing hype.

Your statement could be right, but it could be 100% wrong. They were having manufacturing issues. That is why it was thought it would release late in Europe. So most likely, they took some of the ones coming to the US, and added them to the Europe launch, so that Europe would be able to get it as well and not have tow wait.

In Canada the Wii U was only available to preoder today at the store and requires a $50 mininum deposit.
I preordered mine today. Also FIFA 13, Zombie U, Assassins Creed and Pro controller. $70 now to start saving the rest. I also Pre ordered one from best buy for pickup that day :) looks like they charged me for it or put a hold

No, not all of them will be available at launch, but most of them will. I think the only game in your list that won’t be available at launch is Epic Mickey: The Power of Two. Also, you are correct about Wii Fit U. It won’t be available at launch but it will be released in the launch window.
Other than that, that’s all I can comment for now. Game releases are always subject to change.
