ZombiU Multiplayer Arena Revealed

ZombiU story director Gabrielle Shrager spoke to ONM about the upcoming survival horror game’s multiplayer arenas. Gamers will be able to play together in St George’s Yard, which Shrager described as a ‘hell within hell.’ Shrager says the multiplayer arenas in the game are a spin-off of an actual area encountered in the single-player mode.

One multiplayer mode is called King Of Zombies, in which one player uses the Wii U GamePad’s 6.2-inch touchscreen to place zombies around a flag while the other player attempts to shoot them down by using the Wii U Pro Controller.

“You’ve seen the Tower Of London gameplay footage by now, so you know we are going to have to breach the Traitor’s Gate and penetrate the depths of the Bloody Tower to find the Raven Of Dee’s Secret Bunker, but you’ve never heard of St George’s Yard.

“St George’s is our hell within hell. Survivors here are unwilling participants in a twisted game in which they are thrown to the infected. Our multiplayer arenas are a spin-off of this mission in the campaign.”

    1. Me too. Can’t wait for this game. It’s going to be awesome. I had the chance this weekend to tried out the WiiU at local best buy. Man the system look amazing. The only game that was playable was Rayman Legends. The art in that game was amazing. Can’t wait, want now.

          1. I guess you were just really anxious? I myself do want to play the Wii-U but I don’t ever been excited for any console, I only get excited when I have it in my hands and I’m playing games on it.

  1. Call of Duty: Black Ops II, Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge, Nano Assault Neo, etc. aren’t the only ones that have two player separate screens mode. Ubisoft have done a great job by adding 2 player separate screen as one of the options in ZombiU.

    1. Ooo, i didnt think about Ninja Gaiden having 2 player off screen co-op…me and my brother will tear people apart with that

  2. Meh, not bothered about multiplayer for this.

I hate how every company is trying to tack on multiplayer on everything when its either crap or just not even neccessary.

    1. I see what you mean, but multiplayer does increase the lifespan of a game. Think about COD, Smash Bros., Monster Hunter, etc.

    2. For me, it depends on the game. Some games, like competitive titles like racing, sports, and maybe franchise games like Mario games, should have mulitplayer. Not every game has to have multiplayer, but I feel it needs to have either that or at least some form of DLC to expand the life of the game.

I like a good single player experience and cooperative or competitive multiplayer in games.

    3. If this game didnt have multiplayer than people would buy it… and return it 3 days after they beat it. With multiplayer people actually play the game longer. Most people dont care about “100% beating the game on every mode and collecting every item” type crap. People just want to beat the main story and get onto the multiplayer lol!!!

  3. I can’t wait for this game. I don’t care what people say. This game is not another Red Steel, it’s going to be awesome.

  6. Zombie U just might be my favorite survival horror game ever. Maybe Capcom isn’t putting Resident Evil 6 on Wii U because its afraid to compete with Zombie U.
