EA Japan has revealed that the Wii U version of Need For Speed: Most Wanted will feature off-TV play, so you’ll be able to play the entire game on the Wii U GamePad, if you so wish. You will also be able to display menu content directly on the Wii U GamePad. Need for Speed: Most Wanted Wii U is coming to Japan on March 14th for 6,615 yen.
Anyone know when this is coming to NA?
FutureShop currently has Need for Speed: Most Wanted hitting Wii U on March 12th, 2013. We’ll have to wait for EA to give an official comment on this one.
alright cool, thanks
I thought all the Wii U games were supposed to do this?
That’s what they used to market their console in the first place, being able to play with or without a TV.
No they didn’t.
It’s only ever an option. ZombiU doesn’t have off screen play. I’ll be surprised if a lot of first party games have off screen play, Zelda, Metroid, and even Mario probably won’t
That a programable feature if developers want a quick port they will not add it.
This should be a Mandatory feature for all basic games.
Pretty much every game has this feature on wiiu except the ones designed around asymetric gameplay , Like ZombiU , Nintendo Land .
Rayman Legends could be another one which is like that , but I hope not.
Best feature ever. I actually like the soft look of the gamepad screen aswell. Sometimes it seems to decrease aliasing or hide it , maybe due to ppi or something I dunno….
Effectively I guess it is a version of supersampling anti-aliasing, it’s being rendered in a higher resolution and then downsized into the resolution of the gamepad
Thats good. Shame the game isn’t as good as i hoped.
I prefer this than warfigther be greatfull.:P
I prefer Burnout Paradise though xD
Yeah, Burnout Paradise is a better game overall. I think it really has to do with the city design and the different mini games that you can play versus just racing.
But I still think Most Wanted was one of the best racing games this year.
Or erm…. last year. lol
Prefer burnout revenge crash mode was amaizing.
Yeah, just overall everything was better.
The city was great, diverse and a lot bigger, the cars were interesting, mini challenges, more races too, i know each car has its 5 races instead on MW but alot of them are just the same tracks. Police are actually kinda annoying in this…
Oh and the soundtrack in Paradise is WAAAAY better. I mean it has Paradise City by the Guns n Roses and Epic by Faith No More. Hard to top that with mediocre wubstep
Graphically this game looked pretty good on the PC, I’m interested to see how it turns out on the Wii U, hopefully it’s good.
Won’t this pretty much be a feature with most Wii U games? Why are they highlighting this as if it’s a special feature?
Not that I’m complaining, mind you. I just find it a bit strange to make an info release about something that’s seems like a given with most Wii U games. I know that it’s an optional feature for developers, but it seems to me that since playing off-TV was one of the biggest promises of Wii U, that perhaps developer’s don’t announce it separately as if it’s some kind of news. Seems like you’d want to make off-TV gaming as standard and expected as possible. But again, not complaining here.
Not that I was planning on getting this but its good to see more Devs are doing the off TV game play feature.
Researched this game… on Youtube. It does look cool, but it’s like they took the grit and the ‘street’ out of Most Wanted. The 1st one had a story- the revenge on Razor pretty much drove you (lol) up the Blacklist. I hope they didn’t think the Muse opening would be a good substitute for a decent plot…
Awesome! I want to try this game on the Wii-U.
I’ve played the 360 version and had quite a bit of fun. Hopefully with this version i’ll have just as much fun if not more

Mi sono divertito moltissimo con la versione 360 e prevedo un’esperienza altrettanto, se non più, piacevole con questa versione.
