SEGA Germany has confirmed that all three Nintendo exclusive Sonic titles will be coming in 2013. We already know about Sonic Lost World and Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games. The third game is rumoured to be a Sonic and Mario Kart crossover which is being developed by the Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed team over at Sumo Digital. We will undoubtedly get more information on the three Sonic titles at E3.

Skies Of Arcadia was awesome! Definitely up there with the likes of the early Final Fantasy games (up to FFX, where they became all cutscenes). If you can find a way to play it, do so!
the thing is its really expensive for such an old game, the gamecube one anyway. i have heard it is the better version because the enemies dont hit you every 5 steps. is that true? so im waiting for it to maybe get re released on wii u eshop because there was talks about it.
Yeah, the GC version was an improved port of the Dreamcast one, and they took a lot of complaints into mind when porting it, such as the regularity of random encounters. With any luck we’ll get it on Virtual Console, but in the meantime, watch this…

im not from uk and dont use bidding. im just going to see if i can find it like at a pawnshop for a decent price or if they re release it it on wii u e shop. ive just been wanting to play good rpgs after i got in to them and this is one that ive been keeping a look for. mario rpg, then secret of mana and chrono trigger made me get into rpgs. along with playing some really good new ones like xenoblade, last story, and the baiten katos series.
I prefer to buy new games, but sometimes it just isn’t possible. Personally I’m hoping for a remake or a Virtual Console release.

It’s just a rumour , but I would be worried and slightly dissapointed if instead of getting our normal EAD Mario Kart fix , we were getting a Sumo digitilal developed cross over game :/ .
I would rather EAD did it that Sumo digital. Sonic and all stars racing is is Good , but its not on the same level as quality as Mario Kart , it just isn’t.
I didn’t rate Sumo’s last game that highly , after Playing Mario Kart 7 so much it was hard to play (as it wasn’t as good).

SASRT was fun in some ways but so bad in others. The items = atrocious , The monotonous engine grinding noise when you do a drift = Awful , The ugly , dated looking graphics – bad , The random bugs such as being sucked into the ground = shit . I could go on and on

Only complaining i have is the fact that the game is way to punishing sometimes. And stuff like the tank even tough creative are way to hard when your playing a mode higher than medium and that is barely medium…
And also gravity bugs, i can’t keep a count on the times that i bumped into a wall and flew slooowly in the air and went sloooowly back to the ground and went from first to almost last thanks to that. I wonder how that can even happen? isn’t it some simple coding (for them) that handle’s all the gravity stuff in the game? It’s not like some road parts need more attracting than others right?
Come on. SASRT shits on MKwii in terms of graphics and don’t expect much better than graphics in MK8 than in SASRT. No bugs happened when I was playing.The items is the only real complaint. SASRT was way harder and faster than MKWii which is a good thing since MKWii was too slow and too boring at times. Even the online sucked ass.
SASRT does and doesn’t look better than Mario Kart Wii. For one it runs at an unstable 30 FPS on Consoles which frankly , isn’t good enough for a kart racer. And the overall look of the game is just cheap , certain parts look way outdated. like they’ve used an PS2 engine and forced some modern features onto it…
Mario Kart Wiii is 60FPS and has a much more polished , professional look to it (so does MK7). Mario Kart looks like its been designed by pro’s whereas SASRT does not , just my opinion.

I disagree. Sonic & Allstar racing transformed was better than any mario kart i ever played. I personaly wouldnt mind if sumo worked on it, as long as they bring back transformations from S&ASRT. Though this is all just my opinion of course.

I agree, I liked SASRT too, and the only bugs I encountered were some freezing issues when some levels changed scenery (such as the Samba De Amigo tracks). I also think it’s different enough to Mario Kart to warrant owning both games.
Having said that, I don’t think they should do a crossover as each game has it’s own merits, and I feel that a crossover would lose something rather than gain. Also the separation of Sega characters and Nintendo characters appeals to me – don’t mix them together and cheapen them!

imo, Sumo did something that made ASRT far better than Mario Kart can even hope to be; they tonned down on power ups. In MK7, there’s like 3-4 power ups that are nearly impossible to avoid, and it’s really frustrating to get hit with one of those every few seconds. ASRT on the other hand, requires better driving as the power ups are no-where near as reliable, it rewards skill over luck.
Quite frankly, if EAD made it instead of Sumo, I would pass on the game without a second thought.
This, but i would’nt mind it if we got a seperate Mario Kart game to. (that drops the flying and driving underwater)
About being to hard… if Nintendo’s involved it wont be as gapepad-throwing hard as sonic and allstars was and that was one of the biggest complaints i have about that game. It’s quite good but to hard sometimes to be enjoyable.
I liked yhe difficulty IMO race of ages was harder than any rainbow road I played in. A common gripe I had with mk7 was the rubber banding AI (I’m aware it happens on sasart but it wasn’t as obvious) and lack of longevity. In sasart, you had the campaign mode, which I haven’t even fully finished yet. I havent even touched multiplayer yet, also the speed too makes it feel faster paced than mk7.
And gosh the items. They’re darn boring in sasart, the all star moves were pitiful and boring, they should’ve been like the old ones however it made the racing more skill based, and made people less item reliant.
I hated the boating and air sections though. They gotta get rid of that and keep the transforming maps
I’m also worried about that, I wouldn’t like a crossover between Mario Kart and SASR, maybe Sonic can be a guest character, but that’s it.

The only thing I really liked about Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing over Mario Kart was its faster pace. But Mario Kart is better in items, characters (well, there are no more Mario characters to add >.<), and usually courses.
But Nintendo needs to learn from Sega's faster pace. Going at a faster pace means their courses are longer (more detail and excitement). The courses in MK7 were extremely stale.
I don't really think a crossover game would be good. A Nintendo racing game would be MUCH better IMO.

I agree. MKWii was super fun with friends but eventually it became so slow (especially battle mode; that was torture) that I couldn’t play it. MKDD was PERFECT.
I totally agree…MKDD was the best version IMO. I think another take on that, with a possible two gamepads, with the back players playing with reverse views on the gamepad, and selectable items for delivery would be pretty cool…Oh, and the blue flame drifts were so much better with the control sticks too.
That’s a BRILLIANT idea! For one, I’ve always wanted MK to go back to two racers per kart (coordinating with friends is lots of fun). But the two GamePads and reverse views sounds awesome. And when players switch seats, the views change :O

I never had any issues with it, apart from the occasional freeze when the levels changed, but that was fixed in an update.

Mario Kart is one of the best franchises in Gaming known for its super polished , responsive 60FPS gameplay. SASRT is GOOD , but it’s crap compared to Mario Kart.

I agree. But I think the only problem in Mario Kart games are those damn Blue Shells! One time in MKWii I was racing online in Rainbow Road and I was in 1st place then a blue shell came and hit me then when I worked myself back to 1st place another blue shell hit me. So then it happened again 4 or 5 more times and at the end of the race I barely still won in 1st place! They should really lower the possibility of getting a blue shell! I haven’t played SASRT yet but I have seen how the game plays and it looks like weather you win or not skill based and not luck based. Hopefully in the next Mario Kart they’ll still include that community thing.

I don’t think releasing all 3 Sonic games in the same year would be a good idea. The quality would decline a bit, I think. Of course, I could be wrong about that, but with all the… less than stellar Sonic games that have come out in the last several years, I think they should just take it slow. They’ve only just now gotten out of the slump of bad Sonic games. They really don’t want to go right back.

actually, even if smash bros manages to come out this year they should do it. A sonic/sega fighter, that has some Nintendo guest characters would be pretty cool.
smash bros already does 2d style gameplay, maybe this would be a 3d arena fighter. Something that shapes out to more or less how more or less “jstars victory VS” is turning out, with a bit of powerstone mixed in.
It’d be so great if the third game was actually not a Sonic game, but just had Sonic hidden in it…
If this is true, I think they should make the gameplay like Mario Kart and keep all the karts but put the SEGA characters in the karts. The cars in Sonic and Sega AllStars Racing are way faster than the karts in Mario Kart and it would be unbalanced if the cars were in the game. Plus it would make more sense since it’s gonna be on a Nintendo console.

I just get the minds of gamers anymore. Why would anyone complain about Sonic and All Stars Racing Transformer being too hard? Sure, it was difficult. That is why you play it and get better until hard is easy. That is what makes games fun! I don’t want Mario Kart to suddenly become this game that scares away the casual gamers but what it should be is divirse. There IS 50cc, 100cc, 150cc, and Mirror. I think that if Nintendo learned from SEGA they would up the difficulty in some of the higher levels of Mario Kart. I would not mind and crossover of the two racing games, but it can not replace Mario Kart. My only worry is that this will be too many racing games in the beginning of the consoles life. Mario Kart, Sonic All Stars, and a crossover? holly cow!

I disagree with you, Jack. I think the Mario Kart series could use all the available racers it can get. A variety of Mario AND Sonic characters would make Mario Kart games even MORE cool than they already are. As long as it doesn’t cause any possible Mario characters to be removed in order to fit the Sonic characters that is. But of course, I’m referring to if it was an actual Mario Kart game.

Theres No way Sumo is working on it….SSASR lauched in Novenber…They wouldn have the time to do Mario Kart…EAD is probably doing it…And i think Nintendo wouldnt trust The Mario Kart franchise to anyone other to themselvs or Retro Studios…
i think the development might be tricking us, it could be EAD & SUMO working together yeah the graphics and speed in SSASRT are better but the controls on MK& ae better.In that matter put both together and wabam the best racing game of 2013-2014

A Mario Kart/Sonic Allstars crossover scares the crap out of me. I mean they will need to impress me but I think they are two separate games. I personally like the slower mario kart pace. I agree they need to make some changes but rather than go this route I would much rather see a Super Kart Bros(Smash). That has Link, Samus, Starfox, and Olimar, I want a course through Hyrule or maybe a Brinstar rather than Rainbow Road. I have faith in them if they do go the Sonic route but I really was not the biggest fan of the Mario and Sonic Olympic Games and I wasnt even really excited to see Sonic in Brawl. I would have been happier with Waluigi if that says anything.
