EA Labels president Frank Gibeau has said that while the company doesn’t have any Wii U titles in development, it is looking closely at the platform. Gibeau says that it’s only been roughly sixty days since they launched Need for Speed: Most Wanted on the console and claims that they haven’t written off the platform just yet. Gibeau concluded by saying that they are currently focussing their efforts on the next generation of platforms from Sony and Microsoft.
“It’s been 60 days since we launched Need for Speed Most Wanted on the Wii U. We’ve launched four games. We’re proud of them. They’re in the marketplace and they’re selling. The guys inside the studio are looking at the Wii U tech and they’re looking at the platform. They understand it. As it develops, if there’s an opportunity to publish more games on the Wii U, we’ll do that. We’re not writing it off. We’re not not developing for the Wii U. We’re just watching it, and we’re really focused right now on PS4 and Xbox One, to really nail that transition.”

No, the reason it isn’t selling well is because of the lack of Nintendo support. Nintendo knows this too and has publicly taken responsibility for this.
The marketing and franchises that make Nintendo systems sell have not been set in place yet. The end of 2013 and more into 2014 looks like good for the Wii U though.
People rarely buy Nintendo systems for the third party support. The reason it isn’t selling isn’t because of the lack of third party support, rather Nintendo’s own support for their product.

If EA would of Released NFSMW as a Wiiu launch title it would of sold about 250k+ EASILY. If they would of released the Mass effect trilogy (with those minor special edition improvements) that would of sold a good 300K EASILY.

I think I’m right. If Mass effect 3 on Wiiu sold about what ? 80K or something like that on it’s own being sold at the same time the full trilogy was being released for the same price.
If they released Mass effect trilogy on Wiiu for $60 , it would of sold a lot lot lot more. And people would be more than prepared to Double dip. Same with NFS , most people already played it , nobody wants it 5 months late on Wiiu except a small niche group of people.
It’s just simple , they release late or gimped ports and expect them to sell. How about releasing proper content at the right time , like say Sonic all stars racing did – over 300K copies just in NA and EU.
Maybe if Nintendo supported there own machine better, 3rd parties wouldn’t be so worried about it and release the proper games. Simple. Plus some developers may not have the time and resources to fully utilize the game pad, so they just skip it, that’s an issue with forced innovation. And that’s why Sony & MS get so many 3rd parties, they keep things simple (Controller wise). 3rd parties are just businesses looking to maximize there profits, so they go with what is easier and will require a lot less resources.

I think gamers and developers are confused with how the gamepad is “supposed” to be used. The ones that the gamepad best was batman arkham city. Though every game doesn’t need all that. Example, Just have gta with map on the game pad and off tv screen, easy. Or when you going to aim in say COD or Battle field just use the gyroscope, easy.
Or i dont know do a shooter game based about the cold war were people dies as easy as in zombie u cut scenes were a soldier are supposed to die and they give you a new character, were you can give comand on the map drawing were they are are supposed to be and attack etc, almost easy.

The only sports games I like are ones with cutesy characters (chibi) and rules that aren’t quite like real-life rules. Such as the Mario Golf series (and similar titles) and (once upon a time) NBA Jam. I despise real sport simulations. Like basketball games with a bunch of players on the court, and a coach that gives you fouls for traveling etc.every time you get the ball. When the rules are bent, the games become more fun. Except, I don’t care much for the Mario Strikers or Mario Tennis series. Not my cup of tea.
I hope next they decide to release games it’s ports from pc versions like criterion and released alongside other console games and nit sports games from a year bwhind with nothing new to add but silly roster updates.
