      1. American consoles simply aren’t a viable market in Japan.
In fact, I half expect that all of 360’s customers are foreigners.

    1. kinda sad that you can’t look at what the article says, but immediately feel the need to derail the subject and talk about xbox… really sad actually…smh

      1. Not everywhere. In Finland almost everyone has Wii, Xbox360 or PS3 but you don’t see so much handheld owners if you don’t travel to anime happenings.

    1. Yes…

But it will never even reach PSP sales by the end of its lifetime…

I hope the Xbots sell their pathetic Xbox Done in Japan next year…

We need some overwhelmingly abysmal sold units to look at every time the chartz report arrives…

      1. Sadly, the Xbox One will survive off US sales alone, like the last two consoles and whenever MS does anything wrong, they’ll buy good press so they can sweep it under the rug.
MS is the mosquito of the gaming industry and won’t ever go away.

        1. They will fall in the future, trust me…

But untill then, let us enjoy ourselves watching their barely noticable existence in Japan…

        2. Microsoft will always do well in the U.S simply because Microsoft is a U.S company. Microsoft adds are WAYYY more frequent over here than Sony adds and Nintendo adds pretty mich don’t exist. 💋

      1. Basically.
Almost everything here is troll bait to begin flame wars.

Also, this site being featured on Ninbuzz doesn’t help.
YouTube commenters are the lowest common denominator.

            1. IDK who he is but. Type in “Best Nintendo console” on youtube and GameCube got the most votes :D the video is by Ninbuzz.

          1. Ninbuzz (Short for Nintendo Buzz) is basically Machinima for Nintendo. It’s a YouTube channel.
Their Nintendo News show uses this site as a source all the time.

    1. If you really have one than you would
know it is not just a handheld for inside your house… -__- 💋

      1. little FYI,

Sickr use to run a VITA site about a year or so ago, and he use to link the site to this one.

    1. Pheedy (from a different computer)

I’d bet it’s the pre-Pikmin 3 hype. Pikmin isn’t exactly a big franchise, but I still expect to see at least a decent sale jump next week.

    1. The series has been around for a while now. Pretty much a third-person shooter where you are part of a “Earth defense force” doing just that, defending the Earth from mutated bugs, monsters, and aliens.

It’s a pretty fun game when played with friends.

  2. With Pikmin 3 coming out in 3 days (in Japan), sales will surely spike next week for the Wii U even more (in Japan).

…Why do I hear Double-D’s voice in my head?!

  3. 3DS and Vita both are awesome. I dont know maybe its just me but i think that handhelds are in many ways better than homeconsoles so its not surprise that those dominate japan.

  4. I still haven’t bought EDF for my Vita. None of my pals own a Vita though, so I guess it defeats the purpose somewhat.

  5. Guys, I’m just saying, Pikmin 3 will spike WiiU sales, but unless there is a multiplayer mechanic, or an online mechanic or something we DON’T know about, that will surprise and demand attention, it’s not going to be a sustained spike, and will not usher in this new era of sales.

I don’t think we realize just how badly the WiiU’s reputation and public appearance has been tarnished. It’s going to take a sustained effort and flow of software to turn things around. I just don’t want everyone getting their hopes up.

in the brighter side, we’ll all be playing Pikmin Veeery sooonn!! :D

    1. I think it’s pretty safe to say that the Wii U will not reach above 15.000 sold units in average untill Super Mario 3D World is released…

That will begin the era of the Wii U but the real turning point will be Mario Kart8…

      1. Yeah, I pretty much agree. Pikmin will be a much needed shot of adrenaline, and help get the pulse stronger, but when we see massive online multiplayer games like Smash and Mario Kart 8…people will want to be part of the communities those games offer. Obviously other games will help, but some are so far away.

I am thankful I won’t be bored though. The 3DS has been really doing an amazing job satisfying my gaming cravings! ;)

      2. I hope they realize that Nintendo Land won’t sell consoles and make new Mario Kart and Lego City bundles for Wii U. Those could sell a lot in christmas time. Especially when you can fully enjoy playing those games without need to own wiimotes.

    1. The PS3 isn’t selling massive numbers because it’s 7 years into the console’s life and almost every household in Japan already has one. lol

Not to mention… the PS4 is coming out soon.

  6. Japan thrives on sticking painful things up they ass… there’s hardly a more painful console design around than the PS Vita. Explains everything.

    1. Wii u is starting to pick up sales i like it look for it to only increase as the games start coming august 4th

    2. Shut up Vita just like 3ds are awesome systems. They both just like their predecessors will be no doubt full of jrpg goodnes. Go play your fuckin ios games derp derp HEE-HEE-HEE

  7. Sickr the vita outselling the wiiu part isn’t necessary in anyway. You just want more views on your damn articles greedy bastard

  8. 1) 3DS!
    2) WiiU sales rising even with no game release yet. Then in three days Pikmin3 releases.
    3) Earth defense 2025. Those are my kind of games. I would play that senselessly and with concentrated effort. Consoles were designed for games like that with stories bizarre :).

  9. it must be hot outside. you sheep are fucking sleeping, thinking wiiu sales are going to go up, like someone said, pikman 3 will only SPIKE sales, then quickly drop, AGAIN. haha.
    lol
    sony wins
