SEGA Europe president Jurgen Post says that the hopes Wii U and Nintendo 3DS exclusive Sonic Lost World can turn things around for the struggling console. Post says that he “is concerned” about the current sales of Wii U, but he hopes that Sonic can help things. He also believes that Nintendo’s E3 2013 showing has gone some way to helping the console.
“The Lost World might just be our best Sonic game yet. it is one of the games that can help them. I saw Nintendo’s briefing at E3 and it has a very strong line-up of games for Wii U. I think it’s helping people think that things might change.”
“Historically, Sonic games have always sold very well on Nintendo platforms, so it’s a good fit. And Nintendo and SEGA have always worked together in a positive way – the first game Sonic debuted on after we stopped making hardware was a Nintendo platform.”

Bethesda is a different case though. Would Wii U owners actually buy a 2 year old game? I also got Skyrim on the PC, don’t think I’d buy it again. If their next elder scrolls game is on the PS3/360 and not Wii U, then I’d think about questioning them, but seeing as they don’t release those yearly or bi-annually or anything I don’t think we’d see it. They go to where the hardware is strongest. Wii couldn’t support them so they skipped it.

Yeah, I beat Radiant Historia on it while waiting for games. My only launch game was OOT, lasted fast, then had nothing to play until 3D Land (except for the Ambassador games).

I’m super excited for Sonic Lost World! Picking this up day 1 and I TRULY mean that. I grew up playing BOTH consoles as a kid and loving games on both SNES and the Genesis (SNES being my favorite lol)

Jet Set Radio will be awesome. I don’t know what going on with SEGA and other companies. They are just releasing old classic games for consoles. I got lucky to get Jet Set Radio and NiGHTS for my PS3.

Well, I doubt that Sonic can save the console, but it might help. The more exclusive Wii U titles that come out, the more sells it will bring for the Wii U.
The only thing that can save the Wii U at least short term is a combination of tons of quality exclusives to build up momentum and an aggressive marketing campaign. I think the WiiU’s big problem is Nintendo’s greed :p
It’s time nintendo America did more in marketing the WiiU. Pikmin has moved consoles and all but marketting is needed now. Knowing nintendo they are planning a black Friday surprise and Christmas bonanza.

Sonic Lost World may not do well at first, but when Mario 3D World hits Wii U and beyond, Sonic Lost World will sell like it should have. :)
3D World will not be a system seller. Too many recycled ideas. It will suffer the fate that New Super Mario Bros. U did. If instead of 3D World, they made a Universe, or something else brand new, then maybe, but saying 3D world will save console is not a safe bet. Who wants to spend $400 dollars to play something they have, essentially played before?
You’ve only seen a couple of levels, and ones with new ideas. Remember:
1. First 3D Mario game with multiplayer!
2. Cat suit = Cat-like abilities = Awesomeness.
3. Invincibility can be infectious to other players (in a good way).
4. Clear Warp-Pipes have awesome potential. Being able to see let’s Ninety put enemies, obstacles, items, etc.
5. You can carry a piranha in a pot to eat other piranha plants.
6. The stages are longer compared to 3D Land.
7. More openness are hidden secrets compared to 3D Land.
8. When riding the dinosaur, when you get to the last drop, while on the drop, the characters go “Wooooo!” – a very nice detail if you ask me!
9. When riding the dinosaur, every player has to work to control the dino carefully, instead of only P1 handling him. I like that.
10. Gamepad features to find even more secrets.
We will get our big 3D Mario game, just not yet. In the meantime, look forward to 3D World, I can tell lots of crazy fun ideas are going into it.

Considering a teasing post that Steve Lycett from SUMO Digital did a while ago about Sonic “facing bigger rivals” in Twitter, it’s implied to be another Sonic & Sega All Stars/Sega Super Stars game involving Mario(I hope to God that it isn’t another racer since they need to try something new for once).
I believe Sonic Lost World will be a great game. Sonic has been doing great lately since Sonic Colors.
I like that Sega is saying “Our game will sell more Wii Us” rather than saying “Nintendo needs to sell more Wii Us, then we’ll put our games on it.”

The thing about the lack of sales for the Wii U is because these third party developers who pretended to be supporting the Wii U back before it was released backed out immediately AFTER the system released. Then the morons started to wonder WHY the system wasn’t selling as much as they’d hope. Well, perhaps it’s because you fucking shitheads haven’t been developing the games that it needs, so therefore it hasn’t interested as many players as it should. Nintendo can’t support the Wii U by themselves.
