This week’s UK charts are in courtesy of GFK Chart-Track, and it’s an unsurprising victory for Pokémon X & Y as they claim the top spots in the individual chart. Unfortunately only one game could become the Ultimate Champion, giving Pokémon X the crown this time around – it seems as though Mega Charizard X with his dual Fire/Dragon typing may have granted version X the glory among fans. However, neither of the 3DS titles manage to push Grand Theft Auto V or FIFA 14 from their high-ranked positions in the all-formats, leaving Pokémon X & Y to place in third and fourth, respectively. And rounding up the top five is newcomer PlayStation 3 exclusive Beyond: Two Souls.
Just Dance 2014 Wii version – despite the TV advert controversy – has managed to retain a comfortable position in the top 10, at number 7 in the all-formats. While The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD – last week’s number 4 – sticks out the competition in tenth place. You can check out the top 10 all-formats chart below, or alternatively in full, here. There are better games with actual story and gameplay. Plus FIFA is repetitive and does the same thing every year. Why would someone buy a console sport game (excluding tennis and golf)?

It is. I there is one thing I don’t like, and that is the rather low number of new pokemon, but I think that the pros out weigh the cons. I can’t wait for my shinies to be in GLORIOUS 3D!!!
Easily my personal GOTY so far. No game has had me so engrossed. The series has been completely reinvigorated. LOTS of subtle and huge new things including the awesome new visuals.
I only have 4 badges, but this game is like a 9.5/10 at the VERY least..

Yeeees! I resect other people’s lesser opinions towards the game, but now after 5 badges in, I’m pretty sure its the best pokemon game yet, by a long way as well!

I don’t get how a game as popular as GTA or Fifa stays in the top spot. Shouldn’t everyone who was goong to buy it… have bought it already? Why are there thousands of people waiting to buy GTAV and Fifa weeks after their launch? 💋
It might be because of shortages, or something like that. I just can’t see how games like that are even popular at all, but that’s just me.

Pro-tip, any game release on or damn well near a main Pokémon game release is going to suffer. History tells you this.
Still, if the sales were combined for both versions, I’d hazard that they’d have sold more than FIFA 14 easy, perhaps more than GTA V on the whole, but 3rd and 4th respectively in the all-formats charts? Nintendo has had a good year with 3DS titles entering the top five on a few occasions this year. Dream Team Bros, Luigi’s Mansion 2, Fire Emblem: Awakening and New Leaf all benefactors, and now the flagship Pokémon games. Caps off a very good year for the system, and that’s without Sonic Lost World or A Link Between Worlds (soon guys).
Pokemon X is amazing! Reminds me of pokemon colosseum one of my favourite GameCube games. I encourage everyone to try these awesome games there a huge step up for the pokemon series and the graphics are really impressive for a handheld game and game freaks first 3d game in the series! And hands down probably the coolest legendaries since generation 2 with lugia and ho oh!

One tip of advice : use Pokemon amie and super training (it will save you from a heck load of struggling through it) look on serebii for what impact Pokemon amie has in the game….
If you plan on using a lot of leppa berries, I would use the farm found on route 7 (slight exit on the south end)
If you do it right, one or two leppa berries can turn into 3 – 5 of them, and replant and watch carefully for wild Pokemon that tries to eat your crops and weeds
Who wants to bet that Pokémon Z will be the third game Nintendo releases later?
