Capcom announced Monster Hunter 4G for the Nintendo 3DS during the Monster Hunter Fiesta 13 which is going on in Japan. The game is scheduled to come to the Nintendo 3DS at the end of the year. Save data from Monster Hunter 4 will be transferrable to the new game.

The G versions of MH games typically have more than double the amount of quests and monsters as the normal versions, as well as tweaked and improved controls and gameplay elements. For clarity, when 3G was brought west, they renamed it 3 “ULTIMATE”, because that was what it was.

I’ve never played a Monster Hunter game. I probably should. I only ever hear good things.
And yet we STILL don’t even have confirmation of 4 in the west.
I figured as much. Capcom refused to even DISCUSS releasing MH4 in the west because, unlike the MH crazy Japanise fans, they know they can’t sell the same game to us twice in the span of a single year. They were already working on the G version and knew we would insist on getting only the BEST version.
I suspect that no earlier than E3, but likely not until this Fall, Capcom will anounce that 4G (rebranded as “4 Ultimate” in the West) will be coming to us no sooner than 3rd quarter 2015. Only time will tell if they do a WiiU version as well, considering how poorly WiiU is currently doing. Also, with Online Play on the 3DS in this version, would anyone really bother to play another 3DS port on the WiiU again?
This makes me so angry yet happy at the same time. Damn you Capcom for teasing us so hard. We wanted Monster Hunter 4 and you decide to not localize it except for South Korea (seriously?) and now you flaunt Monster Hunter 4 G in our faces and say that it’s for the same exact system (3ds) and only releasing in Japan!? Jeez, well, I think this ensures that Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate will be coming to america for at least the 3ds if not the wii u also.
