Natsume Community Manager, CeeCee, has revealed that Nintendo is still working on bringing GameBoy Advance Virtual Console support to the Nintendo 3DS. CeeCee says that they can’t release the GBA titles that they wish to release until Nintendo makes it possible.
“No, Nintendo does not put recent console games on the 3DS eShop, and sadly that means we cannot either. The same goes with GBA (outside of the ambassador games) — though they’re working on this and we look forward to the day it’s possible. But until that day comes, we aren’t actively working on porting any specific GBA or GameCube games. We’re aware today that Nintendo has announced plans to launch DS games for the WiiU – it’s an exciting time, and we’ll be reviewing our DS catalogue for potential titles.”

Well, Nintendo is currently giving Zelda Four Sword away for free to 3DS owners. It was a GBA game.
But only in America -_-
God, I thought it sad ‘GCN’ when I first looked at the article. I would of been so angry if GCN was going to 3ds and DS was going to Wii U haha

Ewwww no. Just. No. If I only want to play one game I should only have to pay for one game. Not pay monthly just so I can have access to a single game, possibly pay much more than the game is worth and then lose it whenever I stop paying the subscription.

I don’t understand why Nintendo hasn’t implemented the GBA on 3DS yet for the non Ambassadors…. it’s just another way to rake in the cash… but no… Nintendo fails yet again to recognize a decent selling strategy. By the way. NDS on Wii U was probably the LAST thing I expected them to emulate, I feel like it’s not old enough. GBA games are probably a little harder to find than NDS. I think GBA/3DS makes a lot more sense…. along with GCN on Wii U instead. oyyyy
that’s just my opinion though..
There are so many great games on the GBA that people probably missed out on… Same goes for the GameCube but Nintendo would probably be more interested in HD remakes so they can bump the retail price really high
Agreed. So many titles I’d fork over cash for immediately and without hesitation. Nintendo is more confusing than a teenage girl.

Seems logical since the 3DS hypothetically has 3-4 years left to be relevant until the next possible Nintendo handheld.
but i got the 10 GBA games from the Ambassador Program so i dont think they need to do anymore work ?

Not happening same as why red blue gold etc hasn’t happened yet…
Pokemon wouldn’t work because they would need to remake the game to support 3ds’s wireless link/wifi because else the game could never be really beat.
