Nintendo today announced a new Super Smash Bros. Direct. The broadcast will provide new details on the Super Smash Bros. games coming to Wii U and Nintendo 3DS. The new Nintendo Direct will be streamed from the Nintendo Direct website at 23:00 on 8th April in the UK. 6 p.m. ET/3 p.m. PT.

Iwata takes the stage.. clears his throat and the proceeds to inform the Nintendo community that smash bros has been delayed to Nov-Dec of 2015 and will feature 720p 30FPS visuals….. This is them followed by a Pleease’a’Undastaand speech.. In the far distance a shadow of somebody appears which eventually turns out to be a real chimp dressed as diddy kong who immediately rips Iwatas face right off his head and then hurls a load of shit at the camera.. Most likely 2 new characters, show off some new levels or changes to old levels, probably new items, and a few minie games / modes (home run challenge)
Most notably we well get a month that the game well come or at the least they well confirm a fall release time.
Hoping finally for an adventure/boss/dungeon mode
I have a feeling it’s a new character or two. If just one, I think they’ll reveal Yoshi is back. Maybe focus more primarily on how moves work for some characters.
They already told the differences…3DS version’s stages will be from handheld games, Wii U version’s stages will be from home console games. Also trophies will be exclusive to each, that’s it.

Zeldas will NEVER sold consoles. Yeah, it’s probably the most praised franchise of Nintendo, but it’s never been a “console seller”. That’s Mario’s task.
Even Ocarina Of Time (a.k.a. The Best Game of All Times) only sold 7.6M worldwide. Mario Party 8 sold 8.06M…. It’s sad, but the best games never sold well on Nintendo consoles.

Well, clearing my whole schedule for Tuesday. I’ll need good food and drink, and space to do backflips when good things are announced, and room to safely rage just in case anything bad is said. Between this and the Mario Kart 8 trailer released yesterday the Nintendo hype train is going just about full steam ahead.

…actually i’ll probably just play some of the VC games I just got, but I do hope a lot of good information is shared. The game must be closer to completion/release than originally thought because doing a whole Direct about it seems odd and soon. And I wonder what new things they’ll talk about at E3 then if they go. Maybe this is to build hype and positive attention before Iwata’s re-evaluation in June?

You gotta understand, I dont even care if Ridley is in or not, I just want my Sonic, but you must admit, size is a non demeanor in this here cirumstance.
In this case it is because shrinking would reduce the menacing factor that people love about Ridley in the first place. It’s okay to alter, say, Bowser and Olimar because they’re humanoid so it doesn’t feel out of place.
Plus, Bowser’s size changes in every game he’s in. Ridley, on the other hand, is almost always massive and the one game in which he wasn’t (melee intro doesn’t count guys) was the original Metroid and that was due to graphical limitations.
Or maybe people are just afraid Ridley, like Samus, will get his Other M design. Or they don’t want him in because he might be an OP character, completely ignoring the fact a character is only as OP as the person using him/her. Either way, I’m going to continue to support Ridley as playable til Sakurai, HIMSELF, says otherwise.

Good thing I don’t buy a majority of EA’s shit. I go mostly for Nintendo, Capcom, Square Enix, & Tecmo Koei games. Least with them I know I’m getting at least something good that I’ll most likely enjoy.

I would like Roy and Ike. But Chrom may very well be the other FE character, and I don’t know if that’s good or bad cause I haven’t played Awakening yet…
Chrome’s cool. I like him a lot better than Roy. I hope Ike returns but Chrome will probably take his place.
I would like Lucina though it is probably very unlikely.
He’ll be replaced by Chrom and you know it. Dont get your hopes up.
Ike is the least popular Fire Emblem lord in Japan, whereas Chrom’s game pretty much saved the franchise, so he’ll go the same route as Roy.
I highly doubt it, but we’ll see.
I don’t think Ike will return either. He’ll go the same route as Roy & be replaced by the newest lord Chrom, who is most likely more popular than Ike, especially in Japan. Popularity does help get some characters into these Smash games. (I won’t ignore the possibility that Ike could return, but I just don’t see him making it.)

As much as I’m hoping for a Takamaru reveal this month for his anniversary, I think he’ll focus more on famous IP’s like Fire Emblem’s Chrom for example. If both characters were shown, people would be whining about “too many swordsman in mah Smash!?”.

I’m hoping they will announce a release date as well as new modes for the game such as a story mode (fingers crossed they changed their mind on it but I doubt it), boss rush mode, level editor, etc. I’m also hoping they bring back Snake, Ike, and Roy but add new characters such as Chrom, Raiden, Rundus, Sylux, Ghor and Weavel (there are other Metroid characters besides Ridley folks!). Also Magnus from Kid Icarus would be cool too.

Am I the only one who comes to MyNintendoNews to find out what happened in the Nintendo Directs, instead of watching them live? I haven’t watched a live Nintendo ANYTHING since E3 last year.
But mainly because they always air too early. And I am NOT a morning (or early afternoon) person.
I do that too sometimes or I wait for it to be released in the eShop because they often show these at nights when I’m sleeping because I wake up pretty early…
I’ll be so happy if this Nintendo Direct reveals either Professor Layton or Chrom as a newcomer.
