Here’s A Look At The New Quick Start Menu For Wii U

The video embedded above gives a better look at just how fast the new quick start menu is for the Wii U. The update should be made available to Wii U owners this summer and allows you to slash the time taken to boot the console. You’re presented by the applications as soon as you click the power button on the Wii U GamePad. You can quickly pick the app you want to use, allowing you to skip the Wii U home screen.

    1. Nintendo Commander Quadraxis ((insert irrelevant comment about Nintendo console you dont own here)).. thank you

    1. You don’t have to go through all the menus, the game starts once the system is running, saving you some time. It’s not going to be a big deal for me when it comes to gaming, but it’s nice starting quicker when going to use Netflix!

Nice, I’ll certainly take advantage of this. I remember when load times on the Wii U’s we got at launch were HORRIFIC. Took a half hour to start up a console to play one game… :P

  2. Does this mean the end of the Wara wara plaza? And it is possible to get in your account without the password of is that a part of the update?

  3. So you have to tap 3 times to start a game? How does this make anything quicker?

I don’t understand why they didn’t place the text under the icon, that would have saved one step. Or make the user selection optional.
