This week’s Japanese sales charts are now in and they’re looking rather dire for hardware sales in general. The Nintendo 3DS was the best-selling hardware selling 23K, while the Wii U sold 6K. Poor hardware sales are blamed on the massive adoption of smartphone gaming in Japan. Anyway, here’s the Japanese software and hardware charts for this week.

The PS4 console numbers have been falling consistently every week, and they have reached the same plateau the Wii U has resided on for quite some time now (between 6 and 7 thousand units sold)…
That’s only in Japan though. Home consoles aren’t as popular as handhelds over there. It’s still doing quite well in the west.

Because a corporation can’t just accept defeat, plus it might be abysmal sales, but its sales non the less.
but they’ll have expenses for localization, distribution, local management, fees and taxes and of course marketing.. it may end up costing them more than they can earn
Just like it did the last gen with the 360, but you just can’t hand the market to your competition. Specially now that MS has some aces up there sleeve, or at least those RPGs for the east that a supposed big 3rd party Dev is working on.

while the 360 still had some potential on the japanese market in 2006 the XBO has a snowballs chance in hell to be successful now
in that case it is pretty irrelevant if the market is being handed to the competition.. what point is there in holding a market that has no interest in your product

Who the hell would buy a Wii U right before Mario Kart 8 bundle comes out. Don’t worry, you’ll see a couple of weeks from now.
Things aren’t looking good for the Wii U. That being said, Nintendo still has their profits from the Gamecube and Wii era to sustain them. Hopefully this will make them reconsider bringing back the Gamecube. It’s still my favorite console of all time and I have to admit that it’s pretty awesome!
WiiU is making money on every console sold now. It is looking Grim for the PS4 over there. The Japanese don’t buy into hype on a console with no games.
Better than the PS4, it got its ass handed to it by it’s last gen predecessor the PS3 and the Wii U is catching up.
To be fair, the PS3 is a million times better than the PS4. I like the PS4, but the PS3 will forever be the second best console behind the Gamecube. Good to see the Wii U doing well, but I doubt that it’ll catch the PS4
