Tyler, one of the readers of My Nintendo News, has discovered that Street Fighter Alpha 2 should be coming to the North American Wii U Virtual Console tomorrow. The product page is currently live and is due for release on May 22nd. Here’s the game’s description.
Street Fighter Alpha 2 explodes on-screen with lightning-fast gameplay and amazing innovations. Quick Move Reversals, Alpha Counters and the incredible Custom Combo System create a new standard for all games to fight by. Push your talents to the limit as you discover new hidden moves and reversals for every character. Aw yeah! Street Fighter is awesome although I only have SF IV and the crossover with Tekken. I need to get a good collection of Street Fighter games at some point. I highly recommend this game to all fighting game fans

Let’s hope it’s a Arcade Virtual Console game. I know the VC in the Wii shop had a few ARCADE games available. But something tells me it’s the crappy SNES version. I’m not holding my breath, lol.

Yes, there was a port of SFA 3 but on the GBA. Even with the GBA’s limitations it was a solid port with additional features that was ported over the PSP.
Oh yeah, I forgot about that one. But if they do port the GBA version, they should mod it so you can use 6 buttons instead of the unusual 4 button setup.

I wonder why they didn’t bother with the anthology for game cube, wii or wii u, the console has the speed and power…Tekken wii u is proof of that.
Sega Saturn version of Alpha 3 was the best…. 4MB RAM cart can not be beat!
Although, the SNES version was admirable. The PSP version of Alpha 3 Upper/Max was definitive with the most number of playable characters.
