Platinum’s Next Game Is Exclusive To Xbox One

Platinum Games designer Hideki Kamiya revealed that their next game is exclusive to Microsoft’s Xbox One. The new game is titled Scalebound and appears to be a brand new IP. The trailer showcased a lush jungle setting with a protagonist who appeared to be similar to Dante from the Devil May Cry series. Kamiya says that Scalebound offers action at a whole new scale.

1. What does an Xbox One announcement have to do with Nintendo? Platinum isn’t owned by Nintendo so why is this on here? Is this going to happen during all of E3? Are you going to tell us about every single Ubisoft and EA game that isn’t coming to Nintendo platforms?

1. Stop Exposing Yourself

What kind of reasoning is that? We came to a Nintendo news website for Nintendo news. If you want to talk about all gaming news then by all means change the name of the site.

1. “If you want to talk about all gaming news then by all means change the name of the site.”

Exactly! This site is just garbage now so I’ll just start looking for another one that reports good news or bad news. As long as it’s unbiased, noteworthy news, and you know, ACTUAL “NINTENDO NEWS”.

1. INB4 we get spammed with unrelated EA and Ubisoft announcements from their E3 press conferences on this site.

2. I think the point of posting is that Platinum Games up untill now had a very close working relationship with Nintendo, and so this will likely affect the Wii U in a negative way. I’d argue this is very relevant news for any Nintendo Fan

1. Not really, they are still developing for the Wii U ;)
Sounds like you are running low of steam, the damage controlling is getting weak

1. because Nintendo fans need to know what’s going on with other companies too. That way they know the differences between companies. God, HELLO! THINK!

1. God, Hello, Think!

So what you’re saying is that we need to hear about every single game that isn’t coming to a Nintendo platform but is being developed by a team that once developed for a Nintendo platform? You’re just setting us up for EA and Ubisoft E3 spam.

1. No, I’m not. I’m not a fan of ubisoft and EA. and I’m not specifying anything. No, we should not know every little detail about every other gaming company, but it would be nice to know the important stuff once in awhile.

2. I would make a comment on this post, but it looks like the harsh reality is working it’s own magic. I’ve got nothing to add here. *Puffs, *

3. I think the reason this is on here is mostly because Platinum is usually so close with Nintendo…. It’s good to know what they’re doing…

1. NOOOOOOOOOOOOO #ShotsFired I guess Microsoft made a pretty bold move here. Hopefully Nintendo is able to counter with something big. Having a 1 day headstart is pretty huge

1. Well, this is relevant since Platinum used to work with us. Also, I don’t agree with the concept of “click bait” articles. Naturally Sickr wants a lot of views, just like any other author. At least he isn’t twisting the words around. He (Or She) just uses the facts that around and luckily they can be negative for Nintendo. I love to mock Nintendo at times, but in a playful way since I’m still a big fan

1. Stop Exposing Yourself

You’re proving my point. They’ve developed for all three companies before. This should not be surprising nor does it have anything to do with Nintendo because it’s an announcement for a different company.

1. Platinum has made games for Sony and Microsoft consoles before. It’s not like they’re suddenly jumping ship. Just because their last two games were for the Wii U doesn’t make this news relevant to Nintendo. Do we need to hear about every Ubisoft and EA game NOT coming to Nintendo platforms?

1. Used to work with Nintendo? They still do, just not every game is going to be a Nintendo exclusive.

1. Fair point, I definitely could have worded that better. I agree, and it makes sense to branch out to all of the companies instead of just sticking to one

2. Says the guy who makes articles about every single game that’s not coming to Wii U. Poor journalism at its finest.

1. I do agre how this isnt relevant to Nintendo but you dont see bitch about, it’s either you guys have too much time on your hands or just being an ass…

1. Because some people hoped Platinum games would become second party for Nintendo after just ONE EXCLUSIVE… and they got pulled back to reality by this xbox one exclusive.

1. I wish that Ubisoft would become exclusive to Nintendo so that we don’t have to hear about all of the games NOT coming to Nintendo platforms.

2. Platinum games made Bayo 2 and W101 exclusively for Wii U, so he’s keeping us updated with there next game. It’s not like all he’s other news aren’t Nintendo related. And btw… shouldn’t Nintendo be having there way with you right about now?

2. Awesome. Hopefully they provide and exclusive for sony as well. That way they can clearly stay third party, were getting bayonetta 2, which should be awesome as well!

3. Ok please stop reporting stuff that has nothing to do with nintendo, we have bayonetta report on that, I’m still hype for their new ip, but stop reporting this kinda stuff

4. FUUUUUUUCCCCKKKKK!!!!!!!! There just went our best third party developer. No Star Fox made from them I guess beings shown tomorrow. Damn. We could have had a new Star Fox, Madworld 2, Vanquish 2, Okami 2, or a Wonderful 101 sequel but nope. Son of a bitch!!!

1. dude, calm down, what do you expect man? “we have 5 games just for wii u, we’re second party now, we don’t want money from xbox and playstation users”. It’s important for third parties to be present in the whole industry, you know…

1. I’m not that mad. I guess I’m still a little angry over how lackluster Microsoft’s conference was. I was expecting to be blown away with a bunch of surprise announcements but the only real surprises for me were Inside and Scalebound. Well I guess Crackdown as well but others had predicted it. Anywho, I won’t be truly pissed until I see what happens tomorrow.

1. lol you drones didn’t buy their games. they gave up on wii u. kamiya must secretly dislike the wii u console since he tried his best to promote the wounderful 101 but you drones didn’t buy it.

1.

Sasori keeps talking shit about Nintendo, but clearly loves his Animal Crossing

1. It’s possible but I doubt it’s likely. I don’t think Platinum is that big of a developer to be able to work on three games at once.

5. I’m confused….I thought Platinum Games had been purchased by Nintendo, or that Nintendo at least owned a controlling interest, and that’s why Bayonetta 2 was going to be an exclusive…

1. No, Nintendo paid for the production of the Bayonetta 2 so its exclusive (not timed). Platinum is still 3rd party. This game which didn’t make a good first impression with me, will stay Xbox exclusive (I think). Didn’t even realize it was Platinum Games that did it, keep thinking is this a Monster Hunter knock off.

6. pink0crystal0midbus

:,( Microsoft’s conference was actually not that bad. They revealed a Halo Collector’s Edition which has every single Halo’s game, every single multiplayer map ever made for multiplayer in all of the Halo’s franchise and Halo 5’s demo is also included.< You KNOW that this will sell Xbox Ones and will sell extremely well.

Thing is, they had a LOT of shooters, a LOT of realistic looking games. It all kinda got jumbled together into one big realistic looking game. That is the advantage of having cartoony games and games that try to look different from realism.

The things that stood out to me were obviously the Halo Collector's editions, the fact that they are bringing Conker back in some weird "create your own game" game, and Platinum Game's Xbox One exclusive. Everything else felt a tad bit bland.

1. pink0crystal0midbus

I don’t think so. I think they had a good conference. Microsoft is definitely going to sell some Xbox Ones after the conference and I think overall it is being received very well.

1. Crackdown was the only game they showed I’m remotely interested in and they even managed to make that look like utter shite with that terrible trailer.

Of course their hardware sales will increase, a Halo collection was announced. Which is quite depressing.

It probably is being received very well overall, but the problem with that is that overall most people are idiots.

I expect Sony to fare better than MS. And I expect Nintendo to either get it tremendously right or horrifically wrong. At the moment I’m leaning towards Nintendo fucking it up.

1. They flew them by so fast, but there a black and white game that looked cool and platformed with old toon type characters.

Much better than anything on 3rd party and exclusive games I was seeing. But I wasn’t comparing PS4 and Wii U, Microsoft is really behind when it comes to handling indie games.

1. better then it was last year, but still nothing I was OVERLY HYPED-UP FOR. Sunset, KI, (fuck project spark they showed conker and gave the finger to rare fans), crackdown, and scalebound were my moments. 7/10. Now on to sony later

2. Nintendo Commander Quadraxis

About 35-40% of their shown games were games already shown last year aswell…

3. It was terrible, all they showed was multiplats. Why should they get me hyped for something i can play elsewhere. XBOX ONE… more like XBOX NONE.

1. pink0crystal0midbus

I think the collection was the best part of the show. I’ve never played Halo before, but hearing I could get “almost” all the Halo games in one game disk could be a system seller for me.

I’m not usually a fan of Xbox, but Xbox One is getting the new Minecraft (which I really want to play) and Wii U isn’t. Plus Platinum Games is my favorite game developer and I would like to play Scalebound and it is exclusive to the Xbone.

I’m thinking I might be a multi-home console owner this generation!!! Usually I go solely Nintendo, but I’m thinking of buying the Xbone and the PS4 this time around.

1. Opps I forgot
“For a big dick in my mouth” – Masterman

Forgot to add that in, we all know you like the D ;)

1. Why are you hiding your love for penis?
I don’t see why your hiding your gayness behind your fedora and Autistic beard.

1. Errr have you been stalking me or something, guess i need to watch my back, before i get sexually harassed. Just because you Nintendo’s Bitch doesn’t mean you should take it out on other people.

1. Who’s Microcock? I thought i was a Microsoft and Sony fanboy? You need to make up your mind. I guess you’ve gotten high over the Nintendo sperm you’ve been swallowing.

1. You really do like talking about the D a lot, must be because you can’t get any girl to get you laid so you rely on men and you love it. It’s okay if your gay and watch Free

1. Watch free… Looks like you got Nintendo sperm in your eye, messing with your vision, you keep making errors on your comments. Blud, you’ve been talking about the D as much as me, so you’ve just contradicted yourself there matey. But you know, not surprised, all that Nintendo gay sex is probably, making you say stupid stuff.

1. What’s the matter, hurt your little feelings? Aww don’t worry you go cry to mummy… Bitch, then don’t say stupid shit.

1. … You’ve asked me that like 4 times now… you running out of things to say? i bet you aren’t running out of all them Nintendo dicks you love.

1. I think it’s the pre show right now but I wouldn’t want to watch that, haha. I’m mostly excited for Sony’s tonight and Nintendo tomorrow though.

1. pink0crystal0midbus

Watching it now. I want Star Wars Battlefront. It’s the only EA game I have ever wanted in my life.

7. I blame Iwata for Platinum Games doing a Microsoft Exclusive game,Wii U needs more exclusives right now then both sony and Microsoft due to the fact that it’s heavily lacking in 3rd party support

It truly baffles me as to why Nintendo didn’t buy PG and make them a 1st party developer, especially since these guys have great experience with HD development then the whole of Nintendo

Iwata what happened to your Mergers and Acquisitions announcement?

Iwata did a interview with Kamiya last year and Kamiya is at a Microsoft press conference

It’s truly sad
REPLY

1. They could easily throw money at devs and fund more exclusives, but they won’t because they’re still locked into the mindset that devs will come to them. Of course, most devs have been scared away by the playerbase now

2. pink0crystal0midbus

Well Platinum is allowed to work with other companies. Nintendo doesn’t own them and it was never implied that Platinum was going to forever be Nintendo exclusive.

8. Nintendo Commander Quadraxis

What the Electrons are doing right now is an insult to the Dragon Empire and Bruce Lee…

9. This is kind of disappointing.
Though originally they intended Bayonetta to be 360 exclusive.
Just don’t see why a japanese game company bothers to make games for platform that sells like shit in their own country.
Games that do not interest average western gamer.

10. Guys it’s just one game. Come on, we’re getting Bayonetta 2 for Wii U. Loved the first one. Let’s all wait and look forward to the sequel.

1. And I’m guessing you’re another Sony cock sucker who believes PS4 is the greatest console ever and can stand it’s ground with PC.

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

11. Saw this on Microsoft’s conference. Was not expecting it, but that being said I’m not impressed with it, we only saw a CGI so hard to say what it will play like. Still not getting an Xbox One, Microsoft’s press conference was a 5/10 for me, did nothing in helping me get one lol. I’ll pass on Xbox this gen.

12. lol, Platinum is third party and not owned by Nintendo, so they can make whatever exclusives they like. Point is, how is this relevant to Nintendo?

13. Yes it isnt your fault sickr i personally dont really care as long as i still get all mynintendonews here first(see what i did there?) before i go to any other sites, keep up the excellent work :)

14. Tallon Ridley XIII: Kalas

Nice trailer… for a CGI movie. >.< Too bad I'm only going Wii U, 3DS, & PS4 for this generation even if there is more to this game than just pretty graphics & CGI cutscenes.

15. Seriously, they are not owned by Nintendo, so it’s normal to see them also make exclusives to other platforms. This has nothing to do with Nintendo, they are still doing their exclusives for Nintendo, so are we gonna get every single exclusive that is not for Nintendo from a 3rd party here just to know the games we’re not getting?

16. I don’t see any issue with platinum developing for xbox1. Platinum is a 3rd part studio and they are free to develop for other platform afak. Nintendo paid for Bayonetta 2 to be exclusive to Wii U and I am fine with that as well. I really don’t see the fuss about it. And let’s face it MS needs more help than Nintendo despite the fact MS has way much more 3rd part support than Nintendo.
