Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime says that Mario Kart 8 caused a large fluctuation in Wii U sales when it launched in North America on May 30th. Reggie says Wii U sales quadrupled the week after the release of Nintendo’s latest entry in the Mario Kart series from the week previous. Hopefully we should get some hard figures in June’s NPD results which should be made available sometime in July.

I think winning implies competing. I don’t see them in direct competition with the twins anymore. They don’t support the kinds of games the other two do, and there’s nothing wrong with that. They do their own thing; if they can become profitable again and sustain that profit, that would be better than outselling the PS4.
I agree with you, we can “win” without beating Microsoft and Sony and there’s nothing wrong with that. Still, I’m glad Nintendo is doing good on their part.

Praise Sasori and his guidance of true next gen gaming. He has exposed the lackadaisical work ethic that best describes Nintendo. Along with the short sided mentality of its leader Iwata and his unwillingness to adopt change and true business risk with less reward. In hindsight, he in a way has told each one of you want he feels you should think true HD, innovation and new gaming Ip’s should be and has made the decision for you. Sheep among wolves will be the legacy of Nintendo fanboys. In the end they will be devoured by the ever evolving industry and until there impending demise will be forced to nurse themselves on the proverbial tit of shame and closet gaming.

Serious amounts of love foe the nintendo community! Had nintendo consoles since I was very young….every one! Still have my original Zelda 1&2 from the NES :D
Ive also had PS2, xbox, 360 and ps3 all great consoles but nintendo are the only o es to offer true fresh and fun ideas. This and this alone iz why I am not buying an xbox one or ps4. Gaming can become boring…Nintendos never does :)
