Super Smash Bros for Wii U and 3DS has won the consumer’s choice award at this year’s Gamescom. Taking place in Germany, Cologne, the games convention began earlier this week and asked consumers what their “most wanted” title was from the array of games on show. Earlier today, the official Gamescom Twitter account revealed Nintendo’s upcoming brawler as the game of choice for avid gaming fans.
A number of other Nintendo games are up for awards from this year’s convention, including the colourful third-person shooter Splatoon as well as Yoshi’s Woolly World and Super Smash Bros. For the full list of the Gamescom 2014 nominees, you can check them out here.
Best thing about Smash Bros for Wii U is that it’s launching at the right time knowing you have a fantastic line-up of games in 2015 already. Fantastic job.

Glad to see it’s still desired. I’m driving to Atlanta tomorrow for the week and just found out about the Nintendo Tour so I’m hoping to try the 3DS version when I’m there. Already tried the U version and it was great.
It’s certainly one of the most hyped games ever made. Maybe behind just GTAV, Watchdogs and a couple of the CoD games in terms of generating excitement.
Difference being that Smash Bros will ACTUALLY live up to it’s hype.

I guess there is demand for the 3Ds version with all the extra information coming out and nothing on Wii U. Besides most of you Nintendo fans are cheap anyway and will buy the cheapest version.
Only idiots would buy only one and think both games are EXACTLY the same except both have different stages, different modes, one will have loads more content than the other, one has crisp visuals that are far easier to spot action on screen, one will have Streetpass feature, one will support GameCube controllers as well as other multiple controllers, both will be priced differently and both only have one similarity: character rosters.
And Nintendo fans being cheap? lol That’s new and odd to hear because we’re smart enough not to always waste money on second hand “remastered” BS 7 times in a row within a year and buying into BS graphics hype just to get disappointed or bored of POS 3rd party games like Watchdogs. So don’t even start with us being cheap because we spend our money wisely and not into what the next dumbass fanboy tells you to buy because their one track mind thinks its cool and the other is lame without even trying the damn thing first.

I can’t really help you out there. :| You probably already own the 3DS games I have with online (Mario Kart 7 and Pokemon X) and I was going to recommend you Need For Speed Most Wanted U and Assassin’s Creed 4 or 3 (but both are from EA and Ubisoft) And I already know you “hate”them sooo… I do have other games though like Mario Golf World Tour, but you’re probably interested in that as well. :(

Smash Bros., Bayonetta 1/2 with online co-op, maybe Advanced Warfare, I say this because I’ve seen the multiplayer in action on Youtube. It doesn’t seem so bad compare to Ghosts which is utter shit but I wouldn’t recommend buying it. Just rent or buy the pre-owned game and if it unsurprisingly sucks, return it.

Black Ops 2 was pretty boring to me. I wouldn’t recommend that unless you plan on getting DLC like Apocalypse or if you just like the multiplayer maps. In all honesty, I found MW3 to be more fun.
Whoa whoa. You lost me at “MW3 is more fun”. That’s bullshit. Next to Ghosts, that game’s multiplayer is also messed up and unbalanced. I regret wasting money on that crap and also regretted snapping MW2 disc in half instead of MW3 because it was even worse than the last game. Even BO1 shits on MW3.

I don’t dislike Black Ops 2. I just found the futuristic setting and stuff about it kind of boring. It was almost like CoD was trying to be a different game. Advanced Warfare is what I think BO2 should’ve been. :/ Anyways, I haven’t played many CoD games, but that’s just what I think. Its a love-hate thing I have with COD. When I played COD4 on Xbox 360, I fell in love with the game. So purely balanced, so simple, so damn fun and its what I like about COD. As time goes, the games get overly complicated, unbalanced and even annoying as hell with minors invading the multiplayer thanks to dumbass parents buying their spoiled children a rated. M game which is illegal and by annoying, I mean Activsion just won’t stop spamming the crap out of the game. I just want COD to take a 1-2 break so I don’t have to keep seeing more of them. Its as worse as EA Sports, NFS, any annual crap from Ubishit like AC and nor FarCry. :|

Mass Effect 3 has phenomenal multiplayer. As does MH3U.
unfortunately for most people on this site, the best multiplayer has been provided by the 3rd parties you guts hate so much….so, Looks like it’s local Multiplayer for most of you.
Still, I’ve been playing mass Effect3 since launch. It’s by far had the most replay value. The RPG elements in the squad based online coop is just fun as hell.

Right now I’m too busy with New Super Mario Bros U & Pokemon as I’m trying to catch’em all right now. I’ve got maybe… 300-400 down as we speak. Maybe more than that. I haven’t really gotten around to starting a brand new game on Pokemon X & transferring all of my Pokemon from the PokeBank to see just how many I actually have using the Pokedex. I’ve got too many to count so I’d rather not count them all myself. lol As for why I’m playing New Super Mario Bros U, I actually like the Super Mario World feel of it. If not for that, I would have lost interest long ago. I do need to play a little Mario Kart 8, though, since I’ve gone about 2-3 weeks without it. Just have to see how busy I am with Pokemon as that’s my main focus right now.
This and Pokemon ORAS are my most wanted this year.

Ultimate Ninja Storm is incredible, but why not get both? I own the original Ninja Storm and Generations. I skipped out on 2 and I may get the next one, but Smash Bros is a definite!

Aw, but Generations is the big crossover! D: I’ll admit that I didn’t care for the way that they handled the story. The animated cutscenes were a treat though. I gave it a 9/10. It’s just about perfect for me aside from small things. I may get the new one coming out…maybe. Smash Bros is higher on my list of course =)
The QTE’s and epic cutscenes alone make it better than Generations. And plus, you can actually explore the places that Naruto is supposed to go rather than watching the short clips about what happened. XD Generations is basically a tutorial for getting into the series. :P
In that case, I’ll see about getting Ninja Storm 4 when it comes out :P (Provided it doesn’t have blood of course…..) Still, Generations was pretty fun and I’m still trophy hunting in that one. I don’t plan on getting the Platinum this time, but a few more can’t hurt.

Whoever wrote that article is stupid. Pokemon is owned by Nintendo, but they have freedom to do what they choose in regards to iOS apps. This isn’t Nintendo making the app, it’s Pokemon.

GameFreak is to Nintendo as like Marvel is to Disney: Nintendo may own them but they let the company do roughly whatever they want. Nintendo is basically the good kind of parent: they look out for their child but they ultimately let their child make his/her own decisions.

My most hyped games (for all systems) would have to be Hyrule Warriors, Smash Bros, Bayonetta 2, AC Unity, next gen GTA V, Destiny, and the Halo collection for Xbone. I just wish I could afford all consoles. :(

Right now, my focus is on PC. The exclusives only available to either system is what will convince me to get one. But so far, XB1’s exclusives are being put on PC or just don’t interest me much (besides Halo) and as for PS4, I like it’s exclusives, but it’s probably not enough to pull me away from PC.
That’s sounds cool HollowGrapeJ. Right now the only exclusives that interests me from either system is TMCC for X1 and Uncharted 4 for ps4. I’m going with the ps4 though because I know that jrpgs will eventually come to that otherwise I’d also go pc.

I’m also getting smash for the 3DS. I know Nintendo’s next handheld will allow the transfer of 3DS digital software, and it’s my system of choice. I’m holding off on the WiiU version until it gets some feedback.

You don’t even have a choice at this point… It’s REQUIRED for you to buy another console. Lol. A wise decision would’ve been to get a PS or Xbox first and then the Nintendo system. Ok you do know both version offer different content .Wii u version offers more content more music, different stages trophies, game cube support, and a mode not in the 3ds version( its going to happen). Amiibo is only working for wii u for about a year, it doesn’t matter what people buy the fig for its still profit. While the 3ds version is bound to sell more due to the install base differences( handhelds have always outsold nintendo’s console line), the wii u version is going to fell over better in controls compared to the 3ds version, the wii u version will most likely get a bundle, they did made a way to transfer data to other systems. In the end 3ds version is going make people want more and wii u verion will offer more.

You as well often don’t update yourself with information, as both Smash versions will have different content, modes, etc, as stated by Sakurai himself, he just chose to only reveal the 3DS content instead of the Wii U version. The thing I wanna know is, why do people pre-order games? It’s not like stores will run out of stock (which only rarely happens). The only time I pre-order a game is when there’s some sort of bonus. Like when Pokemon HeartGold came with that Ho Oh figure as a pre-order bonus.
Besides, every time I pre-order a game at one store, another store gets the game first. Then I regret pre-ordering. Thus concludes why I never pre-order anymore.
Sometime if a game is really popular, pre-ordering is the only way to secure your copy, when Pokemon X and Y came out here, only the first people who pre-ordered got their copies
