The Legend of Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma has taken to Miiverse to announce that Epona will be a DLC weapon for Link in Hyrule Warriors. Here’s what Aonuma had to say about the inclusion of Epona via the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U social network, Miiverse.
“Beyond that, additional downloadable content will become available in Hyrule Warriors after the game launches. The first DLC pack, Master Quest Pack, will be released on October 16. The details of that pack will be revealed soon, but today, let me give you a sneak peak at an additional weapon. The new weapon added through the Master Quest Pack is…Epona!”
“Some of you may be surprised to hear that Epona is a “weapon”, but in Hyrule Warriors, she can team up with Link to attack enemies! I already had a chance to try out Epona in the game. By riding Epona, I was able to blow heards of enemies away and gallop swiftly through the fields, and I had a lot of fun trying out this re-imagined version of her in Hyrule Warriors.”
“In the Zelda series, players never had a chance to tackle bosses by galloping around them with Epona like in Hyrule Warriors, so I hope fans will enjoy playing as Zelda characters in a game with a different type of action than you typically find in the original series. In addition to Epona, the DLC will include other content as well, like new scenarios and costumes that will further expand your gaming experience. If you’re interested, please check it out in the Nintendo eShop. I hope these download packs will help deepen and expand your adventures in Hyrule Warriors.”

Nintendo’s MK8 DLC is huge (2gb +-) and Pikmin 3 added a lot of maps/enemies while Ubi/Acti/others charge you almost $10 for a fucking skin that is just a script to enable something that is already on the disc so… Being a fanboy is not right, but saying that Nintendo does the same as other companies is just being stupid

Majora’s Mask. It’s implied that Skull Kid destroyed her and even more heavily (Practically shown) in the manga. That game was definitely very dark and I still plan on playing it someday. I still wish that Epona could have made it though.

Ugh! First people think Link being defeated by Ganondorf leading to the Downfall timeline meant he killed Link & now someone thinks Skull Kid saying he got rid of Epona means he killed the horse! And Epona in Termina is clearly Link’s Epona, not some Termina counterpart.

Now she can plow through all opponents who dare cross her path! Epona still lives on as one of the more endearing Legend of Zelda characters. She never strayed from the path of justice and she’s a symbol of hope to all. She started the race going rather quickly and ended without losing any steam!

From what I’ve seen on Miiverse, it looks outstanding. And the great fairy… *whistles*…well, all the characters look good.
Nintendo will need to step it up. This may not have the game play of a Zelda, but fans will demand better quality graphics now that they’ve seen Hyrule in HD.

Aonuma seems really impressed with the game and by the fans reception of things like cutscenes and graphics so i’m hoping he’s taking notes and realizing that you can add that type of stuff to the main Zelda series and not turn the game into trash or something it isn’t. Either way I just picked up Hyrule Warriors and can’t wait for Zelda U. So excited that the spree of epic Wii U releases is starting lol.
That’s a good question. I have no idea. Right now, I can only recall adding Quadraxis, Hollow, & Lord Zedd from here. If not, just look for Ridley X3. I hope I’m the only guy on Miiverse with the nickname of Ridley X3, anyway. I mean, I should be since Zedd had no trouble finding me. Anyway, I got everything I can download for Hyrule Warriors downloaded now, so time to crash. I can’t wait to play it later. Why are all you guys downloading the game? I mean I have nothing against downloading games, (mostly when it comes to older or indie games), but retail is so much better. Especially since Hyrule Warriors has some of the best Zelda artwork I have ever seen on a game cover before…. I love having my physical copy…
umm, yes and no i’ve recently discovered how nice it is to just click on a game and go, that being said i like the disks more.
Because this is one of those games you don’t want to lose. I always download stuff I know I’m never gonna want to lose and know I’m never gonna sell. I only went retail for MK8 because of the red case. I haven’t regretted downloading SM3DW or any other of my games at all.

It probably works the same way as in any other Dynasty Warriors.
With a horse, you don’t need to evade. Simply running into the enemies does damage & ceases their attacks. As long as you move fast, lay in a few hits, & move fast again, they won’t really be able to stop & harm you.
KT is really working hard to give this game some legs in Japan (and a good launch in the West). My copy is supposed to arrive on Tuesday – but, at this point, my head is already in October… “Bayonetta 2” looks so fantastic.
I bought this game off of amazon and they sent me 2 codes for the twilight princess costume DLC……
I also preordered the future DLC and got my Dark Link costume. Overall I’ve enjoyed the first parts of the game. Although the wizards and ghosts are a pain in the ass to fight
