Nintendo Partners With Loot Crate To Deliver Amiibo To Fans This Holiday Season

Nintendo of America has partnered up with online delivery retailer Loot Crate in order to bring some enticing amiibo boxes for the Christmas season. Fans looking to purchase a number of the NFC models – after they launch November 21 – can take up the “amiibo subscription service”, which includes 10 pre-selected models. Five of the original amiibo launch line-up are featured such as Mario, Pikachu, Donkey Kong, Fox and Yoshi, with the other five pre-selected chararacters to be revealed through Loot Crate in the next few weeks.

The online gaming and merchandise specialist guarantees the 10 pre-selected amiibo, saving the consumer the hassle in the run up to the holiday season. For those who do subscribe to the service, Loot Crate says there are a still few more surprises hidden away. For more information or to participate, fans can visit: http://www.lootcrate.com/amiibo.

“Featuring compatibility with Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, Mario Kart 8 and Hyrule Warriors this year, amiibo figures are shaping up to be one of the year’s must-have holiday items,” said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. “Fans around the country already enjoy Loot Crate’s approach to delivering cool new items every month, and now they have a new and convenient way to get their hands on amiibo.”

“We are honored to be working with Nintendo – a company that our team loves and respects, and that many of us grew up with,” said Chris Davis, Loot Crate’s CEO. “The iconic Super Smash Bros. games have brought people together for years, and we’re excited to become a part of that story in a new way through our amiibo Subscription Service.”

    1. They actually offer Lootcrate in some other countries too now. Maybe it’s available where you live also.
But since this is a special offer, it’s hard to tell if they’ll make it available for all the other countries they ship to as well. And considering it’s a partnership with Nintendo of America, it’s likely that it’s going to be US-exclusive, I suppose. Though, as long as the amiibos aren’t region locked, which I doubt they are, there actually shouldn’t be a problem with sending them to other countries. That’s what I think, at least.
I guess we’ll have to wait and see until they reveal some more information.

  1. This kinda sounds awesome… I don’t really plan on buying a bunch of them but something like this could possibly get me to spend (even) more money. My poor wallet is being abused lately smh.

    1. Your wallet is being abused? Mine is being gang banged is less than te months i bought hyrule warriors, smash 4 3ds, nsmb2, 3ds XL sb edition and I already preordered the smash 4 Wii u bundle :S I think I got a problem.

            1. I played NSMBW first so I like that one the most. I didn’t feel like the acorn suit in U added anything, but the Luigi expansion was really cool with the amped difficulty and the hurry up timer.

      1. That’s it? Ptsh you made it seem like you had all current gen consoles. I have all my XBO, PS4, PS3, PSV, Wii U, and 3DS games that I’m picking up for the holiday and that’s not including all the Christmas shopping that I still have to do. Also, I just picked up the NES 3DS edition.

      2. I bought all of those too, plus Bayonetta 2, about 2 3DS games for me and one as a present for my friends birthday a couple weeks ago. Nintendo is getting a lot of my money lately lol, but hey, it’s better than the game release-drought we just came out of.

(Getting Smash Wii U, a GCN Controller adapter & a GCN controller day one and possibly OR or AS, don’t know for sure though)

  2. So do I need to buy a one month plan from loot crate now so I can get the amiibo loot crate for this month or do I have to wait for the pricing of how much the amiibo loot crate will cost and then purchase that loot crate?

  3. I saw the sentence “Five of the original amiibo launch line-up are featured such as Mario, Pikachu, Donkey Kong, Fox and Yoshi, with the other five to be revealed exclusively through Loot Crate in the next few weeks.” I assume this means loot crate will exclusively tells us the next five amiibos, not that they have 5 exclusive amiibos only they have? Because I already pre-ordered all 18 with 6 doubles and want to make sure they don’t have exclusive ones…

    1. No, they are all pre-selected models within the boxes, which will be revealed by Loot Crate soon.

Loot Crate does have some “hidden extras” to announce, however.

      1. So do I need to purchase a month of loot crate now to get the amiibo loot crate or Will it be separate loot create to be purchased?

    1. I’ve clarified this in the post now to avoid confusion, but the 10 amiibos will all be pre-selected. Five have been announced, the other five will be revealed by Loot Crate soon.

As I mentioned to another reader, Loot Crate does have some hidden extras planned for the boxes.

  4. I don’t care about any online deals like this. I’m buying the amiibos in stores. Nobody will rob me from the joy of doing that. NOBODY!

      1. I think Nintendo is exaggerating by saying they might be hard to find. I guess only time will tell. My only problem is that I can’t buy any until December. So black friday might cause them to all sell out.

  5. i never once bought a lootcrate but have seen some youtubers do some unboxing, including one from the uk, channel name is ashens, cool guy. maybe just this one i will do buy a loot crate

  6. It worries me that there’s a possibility of some amiibos being exclusive to a particular service. There are so many I’m hoping to get… Robin, Duck Hunt, Shulk, Ganondorf… I seriously am a bit worried….

    1. I mean, I don’t care if they use this to announce and distribute a few of them early, but to have them be exclusive….
