Mighty Gunvolt Update Confirmed For November 28 In North America, DLC Coming Soon

Inti Creates has confirmed that the retro action game Mighty Gunvolt will be receiving an update later this month in North America. The 8-bit styled title was offered as a free download to those who purchased a copy of Azure Striker Gunvolt – a 2D side-scrolling action game – when it released back in August for the Nintendo 3DS. But with the release of Mighty Gunvolt as a standalone title on November 28, an update to version 2.0.0 is set in conjunction for fans to download from the eShop.

Alongside the new update, Inti Creates has also stated that DLC for Mighty Gunvolt will be available to purchase for $2.99 USD at a later date. On its official blog, the developer lists a number of features the upcoming DLC will bring, including four new stages and four different bosses from the Azure Striker Gunvolt, Mighty No. 9 and Gal*Gun universes.

For those who have yet to pick up Azure Striker Gunvolt, Inti Creates says you’ll still be able to grab Mighty Gunvolt for free until 8.59AM PT (or 12PM ET ) November 28 with the game. Once the offer has concluded, Mighty Gunvolt will be available on the 3DS eShop for $3.99 USD. For a rundown of exactly what the new update will contain, check out the information below.

Stage Select Screen: Pressing the B Button allows you to return to the Title Screen. Selecting stages is easy to do, and now, you will be able to access the upcoming DLC stages right from the main Stage Select Screen.

All Playable Characters: All characters have new animations for entering and exiting a stage.

Gunvolt: The amount of time required for his Charged Attack (Lightning Attack) has been shortened a little bit.

Ekoro: The maximum number of on-screen shots for Ekoro has been increased from 3 to 4. The endurance of enemies she can convert with her Lock-On Shot has also been changed. Additionally, previously non-convertible enemies, like the baddies that hatch from Stratos’ eggs, are now convertible.

All stages: Enemies are re-balanced, including changes to their actions and timing. More hidden items have been added as well.
