  1. Whatever. It’s going to be more fun than 95% of full-priced third-party titles. Kirby is a popular, enduring franchise with a history of quality.

Kirby’s Dream Land, Kirby: Air Ride, Kirby’s Dream Land 3, Kirby’s Pinball Land, Kirby: Squeak Squad, Kirby’s Block Ball, Kirby’s Star Stacker, Kirby’s Avalanche, Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards, Kirby’s Dream Course, Kirby & the Amazing Mirror sure are proof of a quality history………. said no one ever

      1. Most of those games got good scores from reviewers. Keeping in mind that a lot of them are older titles from back when a 6-7/10 was considered a good score. The most recent Kirby titles like Epic Yarn, Canvas Curse and Return to Dreamland have gotten very good reviews. Canvas Curse, the predecessor to Rainbow Curse, has an overall rating of 87%.

      “95%”

      1. Was in Walmart today checking the Wii U and 3DS games out. Two brothers were there checking the Xbox One games out. The older boy, about 8 or 9, was praising Far Cry 4. Weird. Then another kid, twelve or so, walked into the game aisle and was searching the PS4 games. Reminded me of another time I was in Walmart’s game section and a kid was telling his mom he wanted a particular game. She told him no and that he already had it. But he insisted that it was different. The game was Grand Theft Auto San Andreas for the PSP. The kid looked about ten or thirteen. From my experience, it’s no wonder how crap sells and third parties this generation can profit off of interactive movies, douchey “adult” characters, remasters, and glittery mediocrity: the industry hoodwinked the beginners using the guises ‘video game’, ‘gamer’, ‘adult’, and ‘cool’. Maybe video games do rot the brain. Well, these imitations do anyway.

        1. So explain why those games, which (I checked) are ALL highly rated and third party? Why some are E rated? Why some aren’t shooters? Ignorance must be populare in Nintendo Dreamland

          1. Oh, I didn’t mean to include the entire list. You’re right, some of those games, regardless of platforms, are good. I was simply referring to what I’ve seen. But third parties and many critics are biased. Third parties can’t seem to profit under the past model, so their products are full of filler and, generally speaking, pander to the lowest common denominator. It happened in the past too, but not at the current scale, nor with such crapola.

And video game journalism is largely a joke, full of clickbait and pandering. They certainly don’t seem to complain about the obsession with graphics, and they seem to crow about power and console generations without knowing what those mean, and that further feeds the decline of gaming. I won’t dispute the opinions of the consumer, but they really do seem naive of what came before and it’s sad that ignorance is bliss and actual games and consoles, empirically good ones even, are passed over for such superficial reasons. Again, that happened in the past, but not on this scale.

Then there are those that at least have some inkling of all this, but they settle for mediocrity and perpetuate the crap. They won’t even settle for the lesser of two evils but for the greater of two evils, blinded by “cool” and “adulthood”.

      2. You just selected a small percentage of the highest rated third-party titles, although quite a few Kirby games do have higher scores than a lot of those. In fact, Kirby Canvas Curse, has a Gamerankings score of 87% compared to Sunset Drive’s 83%.

  2. Looks like it would fit the 3DS’ style a little more than the Wii U considering it’s a very touch/gamepad-centric game. You’ll be looking at the gamepad the whole time basically.

Still, I’m up for some more Kirby, so I’ll get it.

  3. Been playing Kirby games for years and still play them. I have to say im not to interested in this, I feel that its hard to top Kirby’s N64 adventure though. That game had it all, if the pen is how you control Kirby then it further kills it for me.

If it isnt broke, dont fix it.

    1. Yep, junk.

Great list to use for those fanboys, thanks…

  4. Can’t wait to play this game. Never played the ds one but I heard it was very good hopefully this one is better and not overpriced

  5. This game looks fun as hell! Another reason why i love nintendo and have always been a huge fan since i was 6 years old in 1986! Owned every console they ever made. I havr NEVER owned a sony/micro console and never will. The fact that 75% of there games r just third party shoot to kill make things explode type games is reason why ive never owned one of there consoles. Sony geeks r just pissed off old sega fanboys who have always hated nintendo back from the early 90s. And Microsoft i dont even know why they even makes consoles. There never in first place anywere and never will. Nintendo will ALWAYS make consoles which makes me smile:) buy Sony and xboner might call it quits after this gen. Im betting at least one of them will. Could Microsoft call it quits since they wont win console war this gen? Or will sony call it quits after thia gen because Sony is literally going bankrupt! My prediction is 10 years from now nintendo will be the last man standing. First one after vid game crash. Last one standing in the end!:) given hell nintendo! Oh and besides kirby i cant wait for mario maker.star fox.legend of zelda.yoshi.splatoon. devils third. Metroid prime sequel AND a new side scroller as well.
