      1. Nintendo Lieutenant Cereza

I wanted to find and read the Japanese review, but then I remembered Famitsu is a Magazine. Not an online publication. That realization hit me hard with nostalgia.
I used to be so happy every time a Nintendo Power Magazine. came in.

        1. Dude you almost made me cry. I just opened my cabinet to see my last issues of Nintendo Power sweetly tucked inside.

    1. Quintendo Nomander Cuadraxis

It’s only a bit lower but they are not graded on the same scale. (Does this puzzle game do a good job at being a puzzle game?)

Besides, It’s Japan. What did you expect?

  1. I don’t give a s*** about what Famitsu says or sings. They are always extremely biased – I’ve never seen bad games getting bad scores on Famitsu.

XCX was a great project that was wrongly executed. Calling mechs by “dolls”, presenting horrid character designs, and questionable soundtrack. As I’ve previously said, I’ll get it when it goes to the bargain bin – in other words, never.

    I won’t miss this a second.

      1. Your hatred words don’t affect me, dude.

You just should accept that people is not obliged to have the same tastes you do.

    1. It’s the producer’s decision and dream of combining a traditional RPG with the Gundam series (Takahashi’s favorite). Furthermore, I don’t think the character designs are horrendous just because the designers of Xenogears, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance are designing their first JRPG for Nintendo’s HD system. Two 9’s and two 8’s is nothing to whine or bitch about and you’re right. Famitsu isn’t a reliable source for reviewing video games. However, Xenoblade Chronicles X isn’t going into the bargain bin so don’t become a cheap bastard.

I’m buying this when it launches here in America.

          1. Oh, do I pay for online?

            Really? Never knew that.

Please keep your “pay for online” BS for yourself. It seems that this is the only thing you are capable to speak of.

              1. I had an Xbox 360, but the RROD have gotten the best of me, Gamingfan. I haven’t denied it… but the 360 did. Just for that, Gamingfan… respect.

        1. I bet you’re the type of person that loved Bloodborne despite it’s horrid frame rates and obvious downgraded graphics from it’s E3 build

            1. No I’m confident I’d win that bet see as how you don’t appreciate TRUE masterpieces like Xenoblade Chronicles X

              1. Too many flaws and nonsense in your statement.

How can you know that XCX is a true masterpiece? Funny. I can’t criticize it (because the game is not out yet), but you guys can praise it.

I do not understand that logic.

                1. Let’s see… your comments are flaw and creates more bullshits than a fucking politician.

Xenoblade Chronicles X is a true masterpiece that surpasses the original due to its complexity depth and replay value.

I do not understand your asshurt illogic.

                2. Well i don’t understand yours you said the models look horrible but this has been monolift tradark design since the PSone era second you said the music sucks but that’s a personal taste second if you don’t gonna buy they nor Give it a chance then you should stop bitching about it Also you complain on how they call the Mechs? Really it’s like complaiing that that people call mythological creatures with other names like complaiing a movie will call Vampire liches get over it different games, movies, etc will call the mech different
Honestly who cares how a game looks as long as it plays well? Then again this is the generation of shallow gamer who buy any crap as long as it has good graphics seriously you have the right to have an opinion but at least have a the decency to gave justify one

    2. Whiile I see no problem with calling mechs “dolls”, and I’m on the fence about the character design and some of the songs I heard on the soundtrack are not good. I still think it’s too early to judge the game as harshly as you do. I mean those are all really minor problems with the game.

      1. I believe we’ve had enough gameplay to make a judgement.

When a game rocks, it is made clear since the beginning. XCX is all about hype and lack of appeal.

        1. ” XCX is all about hype and lack of appeal ”

Sounds more like the characteristics of the PS4 if you ask me

          1. Dude, what the PS4 has to do with the topic?

We are discussing XCX. Is it that hard to understand?

What the hell a Sony console has to do with a Wii U game?

            You keep amazing me.

            1. Because you are a righteous Sony fanboy who is a Pretendo troll. I can see right through your fake ass

                1. You need to watch what you say about Nintendo and its developers who once worked with Square Enix and Bandai-Namco, pretendo troll.

        2. “We’ve had enough gameplay to make a judgement…”

          Lol! XD
You know, you have to go hands on it first in order to say your final thoughts on game.
In this case, you’re just being biased about it, and wanting to jump to a conclusion saying this game sucks.

            1. No, I’m being realistic.

If I was biased, I would of called you a Sony fanboy by now, but I’m not.

Also play the game before giving your “Final Thoughts.”

              1. But Rootgamer is a Sony fanboy and when I called him that he didn’t refute it. I bet he thinks Persona 5 is better than Xenoblade Chronicles X. He’s gonna be biased regardless. If XCX was a Sony exclusive he’d be praising it

                1. I do not need to play your silly games.

I’m copying below what I just said earlier today. If you wish, look for my all comments over here to see what I really enjoy.

I think the home console which keeps me busy the most is the Wii. And that has been true for the last 5 or 6 years, which I consider pretty impressive.

        3. Not necessarily, there are many games have a slow beginning before actually getting good, especially for RPGs. But that’s usually done for purposes of exposition of the game’s basic premise and to get the player use to the mechanics of the game. Most of what has been shown was just demonstrations of the mechanics, weapons and a brief look at some maps. All of which look pretty solid, the battle mechanics look similar to the first game but with some tweaks, the weapons look good and give some variety in fighting styles, and the maps look creative and cool to explore. The key thing that we know very little about is the story, for almost all JRPGs, the story is a major factor and almost all have twists and surprises that make the game great.

    3. Sounds like you enjoy bitching. Oh well, at least the intelligent will pick up the spiritual successor to a jrpg master piece.

    4. I agree about the dolls part. However the execution on development was fine. This is a well polished game from what i’ve seen. The execution on the release of the game is horrid. Just god awful release strategy, and sales will dramatically show the results of how horrible this release is. They probably cut their sales in half by using such antiquated methods of releasing their game to the world.

But this will still be the best rpg of this console generation. Too bad your gonna miss it.

    5. I agree with this. As biased as it sounds, these reasons (and the fact the game looks 2jap4me) I’ll be holding out on the game and see what it’s like later. May be good, may suck terribly. Don’t give in to hype!

    6. Bitching about the name of the mechs when you probably don’t even know why they’re called that, bitching about character models that aren’t anywhere near as horrible as you’re crying about, and bitching about music that we’ve only heard a few tracks of, and that you’ll most likely forget about in the heat of battle anyways.
While ignoring all of the customization available and how well the online is being done.

Your complaints are so shallow that were I to step into a puddle of you, it wouldn’t even get above the soles of my boots.
All of your reasons for cwlling it a bad game are just idiotic to the extreme.
You aren’t qualified to judge this game’s value.

    7. I understand (and share) your concerns about the character design and the soundtrack. But if the word “dolls” is one of the three major disappointments of the game, well…

  2. Sir Isaac Newton of Judah

The last story got 10/10/9/9 Xenoblade chronicles is 100 times better than last story though.

    F=ma.

  3. If Famitsu gave this game an 8.5, the Western media will be even more harsh on it. I, for one, was never too interested in this game. Idk, game just never appealed to me nor did the first one and I spent about 15 hours with that game. I do remember reading an article a few weeks back stating that they had to downgrade the visuals. I’m a bit surprised by that since I didn’t find them to be too great in the first place. Now, they’re on standards with some PS3 games, but not all. Which I find kinda hard to believe considering that Smash and MK8 are two of the best looking games this gen so far. I’d probably say that TLoU and Bloodborne are the only two games which look better. With that being said, I’m all about that Final Fantasy XV. Now, that game will restore JRPGs to where they belong. The graphics and gameplay in that game are second to none, I played the demo. The character animations are just gorgeous. FFXV is everything that we wanted X to be.

    1. Lol pls. XCX has the better world, better ways of travelling that world, better combat and characters. FFXV is in no way what anyone wanted X to be.

    2. That’s your opinion bro and you are entitled to it but how do you know if Final Fantasy XV will everything ” we ” want XCX to be? Please don’t force your opnionated thoughts on the rest of us who are interested in it and assume we won’t like it because you don’t. You are merely judging XCX because of it’s visuals and nothing else. Try playing the game first just like you did with the FFXV demo before writing the game off

    3. And furthermore, Ricky Tan… how many vehicles can you drive in N*SYNC XV? One. How many vehicles can you drive in Xenoblade Chronicles X? Your choice of FIVE to SIX! Secondly, XCX is more massive and depth than FF XV. Your comment is invalid and misleading.

    4. FFXV will get better review scores than X and you can put that on record. I’ll change my user name to something lame like Rick Nash sucks deeez, but if I win, I want some respect around here. Naturally, I’ll get that respect because FFXV will be the better game.

I was once one of those FF haters for a short period because of the direction where XIII was going, having beaten the majority of the FF games that I’ve played to that point (I, IV, VI, X, XII). Sure, XIII was a huge disappointment to me, but I’ve played the XV demo and I’m telling you. It’s going to define JRPGs of this generation. It’s going to set the bar and then, it’s going to break it with XV – 2 or XVI. You know they’re going to be hitting with XVI because they always hit with the even numbered ones (II > I, IV > I, II, III, VI > V, IV, III, II, I . . . you get my point. The even numbered games are always the benchmarks. The odd ones aren’t bad, either.

Oh, and just so you know, some people strictly buy other consoles to play the FF games. That’s dedication. I believe if many people were given the offer to upgrade their Wii to something else and exchange Xeno for the latest FF, they’d do it.

      1. I disagree as a long time FF fan FFXV Does not impress me at all and after playing the demo i don’t have more HOPE for the game, sure the game looks beautifull and model of characters look impressive but the gameplay so far doesn’t look appelling to me it just looks Flashy and that’s about the combat is too action oriented to be strategic and to restricted to be Action Based it never find that balance, so far based on my opinion on the Demo the combat feels to slow this combat system remind me a bit of Killer Is Dead by Grashopper sure it looks cool but after a little while you realize there is not much deep to the combat heck a play the Demo for a long time just to see if strategy was better than Bottom Mashing and most of the time bottom mashing felt like a better option
Story wise while i don’t hate the Whole Boys only motif, the character so far feel uninsteresting it my maybe due the dub since i haven’t hear the voices in japanese but so far all the guy seem boring honestly i think people should be more sceptic of FFXV since this game was anounce along time ago we know that kind of game turns out to be
Really i’m tired of people making a FFXV vs XCX debate both games have different diractions in game design XCX is about the exploration a discovery in a new world while FFXV is about story and it shows really man stop hyping FFXV it alredy has Overhype it Doesn’t need more to hurt the game

    5. I don’t think FF 15 will be as good as X. However It does look like a pretty decent game. Combat in FF15 looks like it could get very repetitive, and I don’t like how the main character just manifests a sword in his hands. I would rather he equip a sword, and his weapons could be changed and upgraded like in all the other FF games. I really don’t like that. Also it doesn’t seem like there will be much gear at all. And obviously the appearances do not change with different gear, like it does in X. Thats a huge deal to me. I want my characters appearance to change with the different gear that is equiped. I also don’t like the “Dark Souls” approach FF took with the leveling system. You can only level up at bon fires at designated locations. To me thats a huge letdown. Gone are the days (in FF) of leveling up in the field after a tough battle… And do I even need to mention turn based battles? FF is not really FF without turn based battles. They have really dumbed down the combat..

Overall it looks to me that X just got more things right than FF did. However I will be purchasing both games.

    6. No, it really isn’t, because we never wanted Xenoblade X to sell off of how pretty it is.
And as far as I’m aware, the online options for this will be more varied than those of FFXV.

    1. How the fuck is the soundtrack ruining the score, dumb ass? It’s the producer’s decision to choose who’s composing the music. Stick to listening to Barbra Streisand’s albums.

      1. It certainly is ruining the score, but it’s probably not apparent in these scores since Famitsu is Japanese and they likely have no idea what the lyrics are. I mean don’t get me wrong the music is great, even some of the ones with lyrics, but then if you do listen to some of the whack lyrics you can’t help but cringe. And they did this with a battle theme mind you. Those of us that take the soundtracks as part of the immersion of the game will certainly be paying attention.

  4. Do you know why they cut points?

    Because:

-The huge world and story require time and effort to play.
    -There are long cutscenes.
-Game mechanics are not well explained enough. (Which translates to ”we’re too casual to understand them and the mechanics should have been shallow enough to master with one tutorial”)

    Yeah. Typical casual complaints.

What do you expect from the people who gave FFXIII 10/10

    1. Isn’t that just like Xenoblade Chronicles? I mean they had long cut scenes in the beginning but they were great for the story. I imagine the beginning of this game will be a long cut scene too with a lot of battling straight up in there just like Chronicles. And yeah, the tutorials will be plenty, and still we will miss bit sand pieces everywhere. Shit! in chronicles I had no idea I could give presents as items until over a hundred hours in. This game is going to be great it seems like, but I honestly thought the music would get a bad grade but then again they are Japanese. Most have no idea what the lyrics are. It just sounds cool to them.

      1. Quit bitching about the music hypocrite. It’s just like everyone hating Hans Zimmer’s music just because it’s epic.

  5. Nintendo Tetrarch Quadramus-NX

    >>>I’m just want the soundtrack to be different overall than that horrible battle theme, but I’ll buy it nonetheless>>>

    1. I happen to like that theme after listening to it for a while which the lyrics and beats of the situation matches rather well. I’ve heard a lot worst soundtracks than that. Ever heard of Sonic R’s crappy music? I dare you to her it and I promise you, you’ll take it back and call THAT soundtrack terrible.

        1. I'm a Boss Ass Bitch

Just heard it. The guys voice is so fucking dull. Your characters are going to be yelling over that wack as shit anyways, so don’t worry.

          1. Nintendo Tetrarch Quadramus-NX

            >>>I better make an appearance in this world as it’s full of mechanisms everywhere, except I’ll be the only one that’s superior>>>

          2. Dull! That’s the word for it. That voice is dull. Makes the lyrics in his rap even worse, but you probably right about ignoring it.

      1. I like the beat and the smooth vocals later on do match well, but that doesn’t help that the lyrics are whack and the guy rapping does nothing to make the words sound better. If you were Japanese and knew no English you would have no idea, but if you had an ear for it you could at least hear the monotonous tone of his voice. And yes, it certainly is better than Sonic R’s crappy music, but why should we compare something we want to be absolutely great to something that is clearly just a heap of shit? It is clear however, that the overall soundtrack should be better than the majority of the tracks we’ve been hearing recently.

        1. Nintendo Tetrarch Quadramus-NX

          >>>I wouldn’t like it at all even if it was the best rap ever>>>

          >>>Lyrics have no place in gaming music besides end credits or intro scenes>>>

          1. That’s reasonable. I mean I totally get it. Most of the games I’ve played live by those rules and their soundtracks are great! From Tales of Symphonia to Xenoblade Chronicles, from the Kingdom Hearts to the Metroid Primes, Chrono Trigger to even F-Zero.

      1. I agree the music is really good i don’t know why people hate vocal track in media yeah i Know that the lyrics Make no sense but then again this Sawano so i expected this kind stuff listen to the Kill La Kill Soundtrack to see what i mean
Over all i think this Soundtrack fits the Sci-Fi motif of the game
While Xenoblade Also was Sco-Fi it had more of a fantasy feel to it so the whole orchestra Soundtrack fits there but this is Sci-Fi so hard that i expected more artificial Made sound to it after all with the Dolls, Spaceship and more, i think this fits more with theme of the game plus don’t understimate this composer since he has shown he can’t make a great soundtrack

      2. Yo thanks for that Cereza! This definitely clears any misgivings I had about the soundtrack. Yeah, it’s heavy on the vocals but it’s not at all as bad as that guy’s shitty rap on the battle theme. Really after hearing the music from your post, I definitely feel a lot better about the whole soundtrack and even love it. Still that battle theme is a nuisance in the soundtrack and it’s not even the whole battle theme, just the whack ass lyrics in the rap. Maybe “By My Side” too, unless it’s only in a certain scene. It seems like it would only be in a certain scene. On a side note, it all sounds so much like Attack on Titan!

  6. The fact that they rated “The Swapper” below “Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China” is telling of where Famitsu is at the moment, in terms of review scores. Still, those numbers are a little worrying – considering that they have traditionally given high scores overall.

  7. Never trust Famitsu reviews, they gave FF 13 a 39/40, a score higher than Xenoblade’s, and we all know which game was better in the long run and which one is still hated by the majority of the franchise’s fanbase (specially, outside Japan). Seriously, you cannot trust this magazine, it’s a well known fact amongst the American (the continent) gaming community. Let’s wait for more reviewers.

    1. maximilliongalactica42

Well, Famitsu’s main complaint about Xenoblade X is that it took too much time and effort to play. And they said it had too many cutscenes.

  8. “Saekano: How to Raise a Boring Girlfriend – Blessing Flowers”
Let’s take a minute to acknowledge another weird came in Japanese society. XD Back on topic I think XC:X will be great, I loved the first and will surely love the second unless they changed a whole lot. I’ve heard a lot of negativity about the soundtrack and downgraded graphics, but I haven’t spoiled myself any with this game so It’s not a huge disappointment to me. I also usually like the rap songs from Japanese games, so it should be a treat to hear. :P

  9. Given that Famitsu inflates their scores, this is actually a little disheartening. Didn’t they give Sonic Lost World a 9.5 or something? I was hoping for a FF killer.

  10. Hello there, You have done a great job. I’ll certainly digg it
and personally recommend to my friends. I am sure they’ll be benefited from this site.
