      1. DAMN! … JULY?? Mine is arriving by this month… And I preordered from Sprawl Mart like you (Basic Shipping). I’m probably getting it on time cuz I PO a long time ago. :P

      2. Mine shipped and I’m getting them this Tuesday and I didn’t pay for fast shipping. Are you sure you don’t mean June?

      3. Nintendo Lieutenant Cereza

I’m supposed to get mine from Wal-Mart today, but the tracking shows the thing still being in Illinois yesterday. No way is it arriving in California Today :(
I’ll probably get it this Saturday. I ordered the thing back in April

  1. I am hyped for this one. Unfortunately exams will dominate the next 2 weeks of my life, but that might make sure I play this game for sensible amounts of time only!

      >>>It’s annoying, I had my final one yesterday, now I’m free to command>>>

        1. Nintendo Tetrarch Quadramus-NX

          >>>Excellent, outstanding news, the Sonyans have been defeated by our militia forces>>>

    1. Nintendo Tetrarch Quadramus-NX

      >>>I’m not buying you either, you are too primitive to be used for experimental purposes, but again, so are most in here>>>

          1. Just curious, I know you won’t give me a serious answer, but what’s with the act? I would imagine you’re just kidding around but it’s nonstop. Doesn’t it get old? I don’t mean anything by it, just wondering. Keep it up though if that’s what revs your engine

            1. Actually, you gotta give him credit for unrelenting consistency and determination. If this is how he is with his school work, I’d bet he’s going to kick ass and take names whrn he graduates.

            2. Nintendo Tetrarch Quadramus-NX

              >>>Since you asked politely unlike many of the irrelevant garbage in here, a simple answer in the form of a rhetorical question, why be like everybody else when you can be something of your own?>>>

              1. >>>Nintendo Tetrarch Quadramus-NX, you are a simpleminded, illogical and irrelevant being who hides behind a mask. Afraid to show your true self, because of this fact you are truly more primitive than the others.>>>

                1. Sorry, but primitive would be him not speaking in full sentences, using improper grammar and spelling, and not using punctuation. THAT’S primitive (and unfortunately the norm for online communication.

                  He’s not primitive, just… unique.

  2. The “major game update in August” makes it sound as though its not totally done yet? Oh well still buying this awesome new game

    1. sound pretty done to me, and its not like your buying any additional content. AND ITS SPLATOON XD ILL RATHER GET IT TOMORROW THAN WAIT TILL AUGUST SO THEY PUT IN THE TWO OTHER GAME MODES :P

  3. “A major update in August will add two additional matchmaking options”
I wonder what exactly they mean by that, but I’m just hoping one of those two new “options” will allow us to play longer matches. 3 minutes are way too short for a game like this, in my opinion.

    1. pink0crystal0midbus

I think 3 minutes is a good length of time. The matches need to be short, so they are more frantic. Make them longer and people will settle down in certain locations once one team takes control of the whole map (or majority of the map).

It’s at it’s most fun when everyone is battling against one another, hence the 3 minute limit. If it went for like, 10 minutes, then the matches might lose it’s appeal.

      1. I really don’t agree with that. I’ve played the testfire demo, and in each round, I felt like the match ended right when things started to really heat up. If the rounds were longer, it would be much more challenging, both teams would need to work much harder to get the control over the map + stay in control, and regain control once they’ve lost it; matches would be more thrilling and exciting, simply because the team that’s in the lead could constantly change throughout the match.
Also, a team that maybe had a bad start would actually still have a chance to win, as they’d have time to catch up again, which is not really the case in a match that lasts for a mere 3 minutes.

I personally don’t see why anyone would defend the 3 minute limit, but that’s just my personal opinion of course, based on how I have experienced the testfire. If you are fine with it, that’s really good for you, you’ll be able to enjoy the game a bit more than others who are bothered by the non-adjustable time limit.
The problem could have been easily solved by giving people the option to choose between shorter and longer matches, but as we’ve seen many times in the past, Nintendo doesn’t seem to be a big fan of options, sadly.

        1. That’s just not true, I’ve had several matches where one team was losing REALLY badly and then in the last 15 to 30 seconds the tide swung on their favor and they one. That’s what’s so neat about this game, the results can be changed for better or for worse in the last few seconds, regardless on how good you were doing, you have to keep fighting till the very end.

          1. “That’s just not true”? How? It’s my individual opinion, based on the way I personally have experienced the game, how can it “not be true”?
Just because you had experiences like that, doesn’t mean everyone else did too. I’ve personally been in a couple of matches where the opposing team messed up at the beginning, and my team won with about 80% of the turf in each of those rounds. But that doesn’t mean everyone else who took part in the testfire experienced the same. That’s why I’m asking for options. There are people, such as yourself, who are fine with the 3 minute limit, but there also are many people, including myself, who would prefer matches that last longer than 3 minutes.
And a round being longer doesn’t change anything about you needing to fight until the very end if you want to win, btw.

            1. It starts to heat up the final 40 sec always. Thats when anything can happen – have been playing for 8 hours now.
i like the three minutes because it makes me want to play more and more. But i respect your opinion

              1. Thanks! I respect yours too. :) I actually even agree with your point, the rounds being so short really does make you want to keep playing, as the 3 minutes don’t feel “enough”, leaving you with a just-a-bit-more feeling.
I still wish we could just have both options though. But oh well, there’s still hope for Nintendo to add it in the August update.

    2. And no custom matches, no multi-controller options that doesn’t require that damn Gamepad and still no friends-only voice chat. Nope. Nothing “big” or good about the August update.

  4. My pre order got shipped earlier today. 34 euro pretty cheap. Too bad the game doesn’t have more content and that you can’t personalise matchmaking.

  5. In your review, you said there was a game mode called Splat Zones. The image doesn’t say that it’s in the game. How did you get to play it?

    1. It’s part of ranked battles, they only said ranked battles because it has multiple types of matches in it. It will be unlocked once enough people in the world reach level 10. That shouldn’t take long considering how many people seem to want to master this game!

      1. pink0crystal0midbus

I will laugh if the majority of people make it to level 10 in a single day.

        That would be awesome.

      1. He’s the George Clooney Batman in Batman Returns. ;D

How can I get excited with NO Voice Chat?!?! D: !!
Kidding, kidding. (serious, but not ranting)

Can’t wait to see how you guys like it!

  6. I hear that Splatoon is coming to AMERICA Tomorrow. Japan got it today…

    Stupid ‘Merica……

    XD

  7. I don’t need no graphic to be ready for Splatoon tomorrow- those testfires and the Direct made me ready.

    MY BODY IS READY!

  8. Ridley 4 Smash DLC!

I’ll… wait for August to come before buying. Still waiting for match customization. Short battles are not fun for me at all. If I want to do short matches, I’ll go take out Need for Speed: Most Wanted U, put it in the Wii U, & play that instead. Or I can play Mario Kart 8.

    1. Ridley 4 Smash DLC!

In other words, I will be waiting for the game to be truly complete before getting it.

“*gasp* He just called the game incomplete! GET ‘IM!!!” *rolls eyes* lol
