The recent Nintendo Direct announcement kinda took up by surprise with E3 coming up, but it seems as though it will only be for Japan. This particular presentation will be delivered by Mr Morimoto tomorrow, as Nintendo president Satoru Iwata will be taking a back seat this time around. I’m not too sure what to expect but you can bet that Nintendo is saving its big guns for E3 next month.

I think it’s cause there is a lot of games that come out in japan that just wouldn’t sell over here but sell a lot over there so they have directs just for stuff like that. That’s my guess, not sure if that’s the case or what the reason is.

It seems as though they are limiting Iwata in the public view. Maybe they are replacing him soon? He won’t be at E3 either. Just speculation…
It occured to my mind aswell, maybe they are preparing Nintendo fanbase for the “new face of Nintendo”, i hope though that aint the case because imo Iwata has done so much good to Nintendo in order to separate them from power wars. DS, 3DS and WiiU have been fanastic systems imo and they are from Iwata era.
Also kinda offtopic but NX may contain head tracking technology and turn our TV´s into hologram boxes! Nintendo has patented device that follows headtracking!

Yeah sure companies patent all kinds of stuff but maybe this is Nintendo´s answer for virtual reality and also the new kinda gaming possibilities they wish NX to achieve!

Also we gotta remember how Miyamoto and other have stated that the regular way of achieving VR is against Nintendo´s philosophies (wearing a helmet and sitting playing alone in the corner), with this head tracking hologram effect people can sit at their living room playing together, which is what Nintendo has always been aiming at.
Remember F-Zero? Miyamoto said they are looking for a new ways before they bring it back, imagine playing with cockpit view using this headtracking technology, it just all starts to make sense!

Well, i guess we just have to wait till 2016 to see or get more info about what NX will be. BUT it wont for sure be traditional game console with powerful specs and normal game controller.
Nintendo has opted their way out of the power wars and they will never again fight for the same audience that MS&Sony are now fighting for. Nintendo wants mass appeal, they want to spark interest for video game consoles now that mobiles are becoming threat(The similiar way they did with NES,DS and Wii), they wont do stuff that can be emulated by the mobiles or clone systems. They will do something that isnt possible by other means than having Nintendo system. This is where all this hologram stuff comes to the picture.
Too bad Iwata has been failing a lot in this generation. :/ The handling of the Wii U & amiibo just so happen to be the biggest failures of Nintendo under him.
I really just hope they announce the Wii U Zapper with support on Splatoon and other shooters
