Splatoon’s Ranked Battles Could Be Unlocked Very Soon

Nintendo of America has lifted the ink tank lid and stated that Ranked Battles in Splatoon could be unlocked very soon. Following the third-person shooter’s release yesterday, the company has revealed via Twitter that the “Splatometer” is filling up fast with many players managing to reach Level 10 or more. And given how quick the lobbies are filling up, there’s clearly many Wii U players splattering each other online for hours on end.

In our review, we noted that online content was spread a little thin at launch with only five maps and one game mode. With ranked battles releasing soon, online battles will become much more intense in Splat Zones – an additional mode where each team fights to take control of smaller zoned areas on the map. Have you managed to reach Level 10 yet, splattering many players in the process? Let us know in the comment section below.

  1. I’m still at level 9, but I’m really close to getting a 10! I also wish I could play more but sadly i have final exams.

  2. I’m a cry baby. I don’t want to work for loser Nintendo. Please trade me to Sony so I can work for winning PS4.

    1. Dude! Stay chill. Nintendo is currently in a rebuilding process and they will be ready to compete in a market once again in 2017, with a launch of NX.

      1. I want to work for contending company right now. I want that champion ring NOW!! I’m not waiting until 3017 for Nintendo to contend again.

        I want to win NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

        1. So.. you just thought there would never be another console?

You’re such a troll. Either that, or a complete idiot.

  3. As soon as more content gets unlocked I’ll buy this game. It looks fun, and everyone says it’s freaking fun. But I just can’t get over the fact that at $60, one mode is locked, another mode is limited to 5 maps, and other modes are either lackluster or behind an amiibo paywall.
At this rate I’ll probably buy the game in August and will be forced to download 1gb of free DLC.

    1. Where does it cost $60? I got a pack with the game + Inkling Squid Amiibo for €37, and that’s in Finland, where we have 24% sales tax.

  4. I am level 8 and as of right now I dont care who is competing. I own a wii u, ps3 and a ps4 but do I care? No. I love nintendo because of its childish but funny games. Heck everyone in my family owns a nintendo 3ds as well. Nintendo produces fun games for kids of a young age which I kind of like because then you have a target group but they still produce more inappropriate games some of the time for older audiences. Again they target the bigger market with the childish games but still make sure that the adults have some games. Now, going to playstation groups. Playstation produces games for more adult audiences. Maybe because they are going up against the adult champion, xbox. Now playstation has good games like goldeneye 007 and destiny. For the fps department that is. I can find absolutely no puzzle games that keep me playing. And now there is the government type game like simcity called tropico 5 which is hilarious but yet makes some sense. At the end of this comment I will put what they say for the discovery of the research foremen. However, playstation is moving to quick with their ps vita. Nintendo releases a new ds a year with as little change as possible to make sure its good and that it can work with older games. Like how the 3ds can play normal ds games. Or how the old ds can play gameboy games. Ps vita doesnt have that. They need to have about 50 different games at the ready to release right after the vita is released. My dad buys the vita but after a month or so beats the only game out there that he likes. I have a game on it i like that takes longer but my dad gets bored after about a month and sells it back bescause no good games are coming out. I love apple products but for consoles I say nintendo is being smart about taking their time while playstation is good for lots of brand new games.
