If you were waiting to play FIFA 16 on a Nintendo platform, you’ll be disappointed to hear that EA has decided its upcoming soccer simulation game won’t be appearing on Wii U, Nintendo 3DS or even Wii. Instead, the game is being developed for PC, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3. According to Polygon, this will be the first FIFA to be unavailable on any Nintendo platform since 2000. Last year’s entry skipped Wii U but was released on 3DS and Wii.

EA, Activision and Ubisoft aren’t part of the gaming industry anymore so they’re irrelevant to people that care about gaming.
I mean, if you’re strictly Nintendo maybe (which, unless it’s for financial reasons, I don’t see why any gamer would do that for any console or PC), but for those of us who are multiplat they still matter…
I have a ps4 and they don’t matter.
The ONLY 3rd party company to “BRING IT” (meaning showing huge support) to Nintendo was Ubisoft. From Zombi U, Rayman Legends, Splinter Cell, Assassins Creed 3 & 4, Just Dance ’14 & ’15, & Watch Dogs. They are the only company I’m willing to give a “free pass” to. Because most of these games were phenomenal!! It’s too bad the only money maker was Just Dance.
If I were Nintendo I would’ve compensated Ubisoft for the loss & work closely with them for now on!!

Apparently. The fact this game is on the PS3 & XB360 shows they could easily put it on the Wii U if they wanted to. I guess EA is still pissed about Nintendo telling them no to building Origin into the Wii U’s online infrastructure. EA should grow up already & quit holding that grudge. It’s been over 3 years since then.
As much as people give Origin shit, and well deserving of such treatment, over the years they actually got some things right that even Valve has issues dealing with on Steam. Their customer service is apparently phenomenal, and you can return Origin games if you don’t like them. Last time I checked, you cannot do that on Steam, nor on eShop.
Nintendo should learn a thing or two from EA and Valve on how to present a well developed online infrastructure. Nintendo should also look at Sony and Microsoft for examples of what to do to make customers happy with paying for subscriptions. Clearly Sony got it right with giving out ‘free’ games with PlayStation Plus.
Besides that, I agree. EA should grow up, but so should Nintendo. Nintendo needs to learn how to treat third parties better.

Because pulling the plug prematurely worked out so well for Sega. Pulling the Sega Saturn 2 years after launch really helped to continue consumer loyalty. This is way the Dreamcast sold worse than it should have. The Wii U has a different reason as to why it hasn’t sold as well as it should have. That reason being poor marketing, which they are trying to fix with Splatoon, but it’s too little too late. Sure, the Splatoon marketing might help to at least sell a decent amount of Wii U’s, but then what? Splatoon can’t sell systems though extensive marketing on it’s own. Nintendo would need to do the same for Starfox, Zelda, Xenoblade Chronicles X, Yoshi’s Wooly World, A 3D Mario Game (if another one comes out on Wii U) and any other games that I either forgot to mention, or have yet to be announced.

The Dreamcast didn’t do so well because the PS2 had a big feature that neither systems besides it had: DVD playback. If it wasn’t for that, PS2 may have been in battle with the number of games Dreamcast had. Sega pulled because of that, but they also had way too many failed systems like Saturn and trying to extend the life out of Genesis with foolish gimmick console extensions for CD based games.
Marketing isn’t the Wii U’s only problem. Lack of third party games is probably the platforms biggest demerit. Even worse is Nintendo’s lack of care towards third parties, which make the situation even more unnecessarily complex.
Nintendo is supporting the platform by themselves, and it’s going to stay that way unless they start acting to fix this problem. Clearly it is possible to fix faulty sales, as Microsoft had just proved with the Xbox One now actively competing with the PlayStation 4; however, Nintendo’s lack of interest in doing so is baffling.
Heck, the Nintendo loyalists that refuse to buy any third party games are just as much to blame as third parties and Nintendo are. Maybe that’s why Nintendo sees no point in rekindling their relationship with third parties: It’s not what the fans want >_>… The whole situation is really bad, and the ones losing out aren’t third parties, but mainly Nintendo and the people who buy the Wii U.

Yep. You pay 30 bucks for 12 alternate skins & 4 new characters. Hyrule Warriors bundle was 10 bucks cheaper AND it had tons of more stuff. Not to mention new Adventure Mode maps that added plenty of hours to the game.

Last time I checked Sega tanked not due to The Dreamcast but due to bad decisions of the past. From the Sega CD to the Sega 32X. The Sega Saturn was good but very overpriced debuting at $400! Lol.
