Rumor has it that a female version Link is headed to the 3DS version of Hyrule Warriors!
According to a recently released Hyrule Warriors art book, a female version of Link named “Linkle” (or “Rinkuru” in Japanese) has certainly been designed and illustrated along with other various ‘original’ characters. The art book explicitlty claims that the character was “devised as being sister-like”. It’s important to note that the text actually says “imouto teki,” which means “little sister-like.” Some English language sites are confusing “little sister” (imouto) with “daughter” (musume) and incorrectly believing that this is Link’s daughter, but’s not! Linkle looks more like an archetypical “little sister” type character like you see in anime as opposed to Link’s actual siblings.
I’m more than a little skeptical about this rumor to be honest. It sounds like they just had the idea of using her, but not that she will actually appear.
