Activision will only release Turbo Charge Donkey Kong and Hammer Slam Bowser amiibo via Skylanders SuperChargers starter packs. According to a recent interview with the US publisher, both amiibo sets will be sold only with the Nintendo starter packs in order to limit consumer confusion between platforms. The production of both exclusive characters lie with Activision, however, rather than Nintendo – having been less than reliable when it comes to stock.
Announced during the Nintendo Digital Event earlier this week, Turbo Charge Donkey Kong and his Barrel Blaster vehicle is available as part of the Wii U starter pack, priced at $74.99 within the US or £54.99, €69.99 in UK and Europe. While Hammer Slam Bowser and his vehicle the Clown Cruiser will arrive with the Wii and 3DS starter packs, priced at $74.99 (£54.99/€69.99) and $64.99 (£49.99/€59.99), respectively. It’s a little steep in price if you’re looking to “catch” ’em all, but cheaper prices certainly come around for those who wait just a little bit longer.
Both amiibo launching with Skylanders SuperChargers will be compatible in other Nintendo games, as confirmed with their handy circle slider on the NFC chip. The upcoming RPG platform title will arrive for a variety of platforms on September 20 in North America and Europe on September 25.

That makes total sense. Since they arent playable on other platforms, why sell them seperatly. The only ones this will kinda hurt are Nintendo collectors who just want the figures, and have no interest in the games.
Am I the ink one that don’t consider these amiibo? I mean I know the functionality is there… but it’s a Skylander toy.

Think about it from a kid’s perspective though….2 of their favourite Nintendo characters being put into one of their favourite games….it’s a dream come true.

It has nothing to do with East vs West, i like games from East as long as their good same goes for West. But stuff like YokaiWatch is hardly what i consider quality, but yeah you can suck it all up what East throws at you and pretend its good. And i seriously dislike the current anime style that plagues most of the Japanese games these days especially the Jrpg´s.
Yokai watch I haven’t watched or played and have no interest. It just looks like another typical anime that tries to be as weird as possible for no reason.
I found the DK one on Amazon but I want the Bowser, hopefully the N.A/US Amazon customers get it to preorder soon.
Bowser only comes with the 3DS and Wii versions if I recall, while DK is exclusive to the Wii U version.
Are you looking for the Wii U game + the Bowser amiibo Pack? I’m in the same situation. If they don’t unveil it, going to buy a 3DS and Wii U version and sell the extras on eBay.

From what I can tell, you are thinking about this incorrectly. These are technically amiibo, which are figures that work with certain Nintendo games. They simply have Skylander designs. They do not seem to be compatible with any Skylander game, including Nintendo versions. Hope that helps clear things up, sorry if I’m wrong.

Bowser comes with Wii starter packs? Why????? Amiibo aren’t compatible with Wii. Who thought of this? So if you have Wii U only you can never get Bowser. What’s up with that? Put both in as you can buy Skylanders separately. Ridiculous!

A starter pack in Skylanders gets you 3 figures, the video game, the portal (that allows you to put your figures into the game to bring them to life), cards, stickers and a poster. That’s not a shabby deal all things considered.

A guy working at GameStop said that Mr. GAME amd WATCH came with 4 removable plates to change up his stance. If this is true, I expect him to be harder than hell to find. I don’t know what to do! I MUST HAVE GAME AND WATCH! !!
