The ability to upload replay videos of Mario Kart 8 directly to YouTube is a pretty nifty feature that provides quite a lot of fun, especially in the form of Luigi death stares. The success of the feature caused Nintendo to extend it to other games like Super Smash Bros., but apparently it won’t be included in the new Super Mario Maker. It might be pretty cool to be able to share videos of the levels you’ve created, but producer of the game, Takashi Tezuka, said they’d rather players play the levels and experience them rather than just watching, which you’re able to do in a sharing feature between friends. Do you think they’ve missed a trick, or is it not that big a deal?

Nobody even gave a crap about the mktv feature after like 5 days PostLaunch. There were too many uploads to care about and took too much time for the public to view and took too long for the player to post. The same thing would happen with MMAKER if it had the feature.
That’s only because the Mario Kart 8 replay length and viewing perspective is ass. If it was third person and records/sends an entire race play, then it would be a mostly used feature. Imagine if Smash Bros. had YouTube uploading. It would be an awesome perk too and one of the most popular video game uploads in the site. But of course, Nintendo is getting overprotective with their IPs so much that it’s like they’re mentally 5 years old and gets smitten with something so closely try refuse to share and fear what would happen to it in someone else’s hands.

No they didn’t. Even though they updated the replay upload, it’s only for the in-game viewing, not for YouTube. Now they wanna say they stop because MK8’s feature was unpopular and I’ll explain why: They idiotically only let you upload up to 60 seconds instead of the entire racing session and its camera point of view for such uploads is stupid and doesn’t show everything happening.
It is fine that way. We don’t want to over-saturate youtube with small super mario maker clips.

Where are the unannounced games coming for Wii U? They’re coming next year, of course. This years E3 was for 2015 games only. Yes, it was disappointing, but I have no doubt it would have been better if they hadn’t restricted themselves and shown games from next year as well.
Also, they’ve given absolutely zero indication that their focus is on NX now so I have no idea where you got that from. They only announced the NX was in development as a way to assure people they weren’t converting to mobile.
No Metroid for WiiU, instead they would rather develop one for NX, Zelda delayed probably in favor of dual release with NX. Theres plenty of signs indicating NX is coming sooner than people expect, fuck this is the same company that promised that they wont never release mobile games and look what happened! What’s wrong with the online in Splatoon? I’ve had zero issues with it.

I think that People who want to share amazing content will still upload to youtube via other devices (myself included) will continue to do that, but I appreciate that the aim is to get as many as possible to actually play the levels, in this day and age though, the little big planet style does not work all that well any more and I worry for the longevity of this game.
Does it really need Youtube sharing? Isn’t it about playing others people’s levels? Not watching them. As long as they have a really easy way to share other creations between game owners, I think that would be best.
