One of the biggest requests on social media is a brand new entry in the Metroid Prime series developed by Retro Studios. Instead, we received Metroid Prime: Federation Force which wasn’t really what the fans had been hoping for. Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime says he is completely aware that the fans want a traditional Metroid title by Retro but basically can’t say anymore than that. It seems as though a new entry to the Metroid series would be on NX.
Totilo: “And I’m not… Next Level Games is making it, and I believe in them, because Luigi’s Mansion Dark Moon is fantastic. Mr. Tanabe has overseen many a great game. I think the question for me, which is a little different than what I’ve seen from some of our readers, I’m not so convinced that this game is going to be bad just because it doesn’t look like what I want. But my curiosity is: Do they [Nintendo] know that people still want a Samus Aran adventure?
Fils-Aime: “Absolutely.”
Totilo: “I was surprised there was no messaging that said, ‘Don’t worry, we know you’re interested in this as well….’”
Fils-Aime: “Look, we know that the fans want a straight Samus Aran game. We also know that the best way to launch a game like that is to surprise and delight them, to give them a launch date, in an environment like this let them play it vs. what other companies do which is to announce a project that you may not see for five, six years. It’s just not the way we do things. We know the community wants to see a straight-up Metroid game. We know it.”
Reggie Says He Is Aware That Nintendo Fans Want A Traditional Metroid Game [And He Doesn’t Give A Shit]
No he basically said that there is nothing me in development, but to far away to show off. I’d take this as a fairly good confirmation, but not trust it completely.
Seems like they don’t want to make the mistake they made with Zelda where they announce it and then have to delay it. They want to be like – here it is, here’s a trailer, here’s some gameplay, and here’s the release date and it’s not far off. To me, that sounds awesome. No complaints here. The people who think Nintendo have abandoned Metroid in favour of countless co-op spin-offs are kidding themselves. FF is a way of reintroducing us back into the universe, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it includes some key context for the next game. People need to stop bitching and be patient.

If I’m not mistaken, many of the spin-offs you’ve been getting actually play the same as the mainline series, so you can’t compare both cases at all. Metroid spin offs don’t have any future without a core Metroid Title. If we don’t see Metroid next E3, I’m Going Sony till they make a proper system with proper games.
I’d rather know that one is in development and later gets delayed because then at least we know it’s in the works, unlike now where the only Metroid in development is Mega-Blocks Soccer: Space Edition.

This monstruosity is about playing football (soccer) and teaming up with three buddies to take down huge monsters… I know that spins off are make to bring new gameplay to an old franchise but this is ripping out the franchise at all… You can play paper mario while you feel is a mario game, you can play hyrule warriors and it still have zelda vibes but metroid FF just feel like a washed off EVOLVE : (

The rerelease of Ninja Gaiden 3 was still shit they just tried to add everything from NG2 to make it better. I think me & you can agree that Sakamoto needs to be either removed from the Metroid franchise permanently or have his control over the franchise diminished greatly. If he’s going to ignore fan criticisms of the real problems with Other M & think the problem with it was the 2.5D aspect instead of the story most of the fanbase hated, he seriously needs to go.

Make sure everything is seated properly, a lot of the time people don’t push their ram or video cards in enough. And check that you have connected all the necessary cables to power the card.
It should be that easy, if it still doesn’t display the boot screen no matter what you do… It could have been DOA, or just failed on the first start.
You made certain you also got a power supply with enough wattage to run everything you bought, right?
Yeah, I know. I made sure that I followed directions. But there’s just a weird problem going on. When I plug the 8 pin CPU connector to motherboard, it will come on but then turn off. Then it’ll come back on then turn off again. And keep repeating. But when I remove it and turn it on, it stays on. The graphics card comes on, fans start spinning, and I can hear a beep. But nothing shows on screen? I’m like WTF? Lol.

It does. There are some good ones like The Last of Us, Infamous Second Son, and Bloodborne. Some of the major exclusives like Uncharted 4 and that new Horizon game are next year though. In terms of third party, it’s really good. The Witcher 3 came out last month and now Batman Arkham Knight came out today. And of course, there’s the good games that have already been out like Dying Light, Shadow of Mordor, GTA V, etc.

PS+ is awesome, tons of deals on games, and lots of games given to you for free for having it. So with all the money you save from it, eventually it pays for itself within the year. But I’ve enjoyed PS+ before it was needed for online, so I’d have it either way, even if the PS4 had free online.
There are also some fun free to play games on PS4 that don’t require a PS+ sub to play online. They aren’t the typical crappy type of free to play games, either. Not that I’d recommend buying a PS4 for the free to play games it has, just saying.

Fans never wanted prime they didn’t want a first-person Metroid game and then when I came out finally everyone loved it so we ended up getting three of them and a DS game with online play ever since then I always said that I don’t want another Metroid prime game unless it has online play I’m getting my wish haha.
After that the fans wanted a 2d game they got it and absolutely hated it lol

i hope there is a Metroid prime FPS game coming for NX console. Just like the metroid prime, metroid prime 2 echoes and MP 3 corruption. I got them on my wii u. And thats my favorite METROID EVER.

Reggie was probably referring to something like The Last Guardian, but that’s a rare exception these days. Most games that are shown are usually a year to 2 years out, so he’s still bullshitting for another stupid reason why they won’t announce more things.
Regardless, the 2004 E3 where Nintendo showed the Twilight Princess trailer is arguably the best moment in E3 history – back when Nintendo did E3 right.
