Yacht Club Games has announced today that the extremely well-received Shovel Knight has shifted over 700,000 copies digitally worldwide. Considering the title is a downloadable game this is quite an achievement for Yacht Club Games. We also heard earlier today that there will be a retail version of Shovel Knight for Wii U, Nintendo 3DS, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. There will also be a PC version launching in Europe only. You can read more about that, here.
It’s been a year since Shovel Knight dug into the hearts of people everywhere. Can you believe it? With more than 700,000 copies sold and over 100 awards including many Game of the Year accolades, Shovel Knight’s phenomenal success is something we never dreamed possible. Now, we’re ready to take the next step: into the REAL WORLD!!
Over rated.
Your over rated, the game is awesome!
Cool. I don’t own this game but I played it at a friends house and it’s really fun.
that’s about 22,000,000$ after Nintendo takes their share, and before taxes
What kind of math are you doing?
:/
Good they earned it
I have yet to play it. Is it really that good as people have claimed it is?
Yes, definitely. Specially if you’re 30+ and/or a die-hard fan of 8/16-bits, old-school games.
That definitely fits my description.
This is right up your alley then. It’s a great challenge too- it gets tough as nails near the end and keeps you on your toes!
Yes its very good, was skeptical at first. But its actually rather brilliant, challenging at times but rewarding (mega man, castlevania, Mario, Zelda rolled into one )
Ok I might get the retail version then, depending on the price.
I bought it twice, and I’ll totally get the retail for collector purposes and to support the devs. The STORY is amazing as the gameplay. I just can’t even praise it enough.
Cool news. I played through it, didn’t 100% it, but it’s a great game.
