If you’ve been on social media or visited various message boards you’ll have noticed that a growing number of people aren’t entirely satirised with Nintendo’s holiday lineup this year. There’s a few spin-offs of established franchises and a Star Fox title which hasn’t really resonated with fans. However, Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto has defended the line-up and says that the company is always looking to surprise the fans.
“In terms of Metroid, yes, it wasn’t exactly what fans expected,” Miyamoto agreed. “With Animal Crossing [Happy Home Designer] we have a new type of gameplay but it is still the same franchise – perhaps not along the traditional line of what you expect but what we always try to do is work with the hardware we have.
“If you look across the line-up of what we have for this year we’re using the Amiibo cards, Amiibo, the [Mario Maker] editing tool, two screens. Both the new Metroid and Zelda: Triforce Hero titles are new in terms of their gameplay.
“Even moving on to the year after, we’re always thinking of ways to surprise the audience.”
As for this holiday, 2 games worth getting: Mario Maker and Triforce Heroes. The rest are mediocre from my point of view.

And 2015 line-up means everything this year: Splatoon, Majora’s Mask 3D, Super Pokémon Mystery Dungeon, Kirby and the Rainbow Curse, Mario Party 10, Mario Tennis Ultra Smash, Yoshi’s Wolly World, Little Battlers eXperience, Animal Crossing Happy Home Designer, Rodea the Sky Soldier, Devil’s Third, Fire Emblem If, Genei Ibun Roku #FE (these two are released this year in Japan), and a lot of more games…

Because splatoon is much faster, and the option to turn off voicechat makes it unfair for those who have to turn it off when facing a team that makes plans against you. You can paint to the other end of the map in less than a minute and,in some cases, in 30 seconds. And Ranked mode is 5 minutes. It would be as if Smash would have any character with the ability to kill at 30%; the time limit is only so that you can still play for the rest of the match. The only problem I have with splatoon is that sometimes team members disconnect. But that is not the game’s fault.

The only objective bad thing would be framerate, bad graphics (that hurt your eyes, artstyle being very subjective) and many bugs or bad collision detection(like in Sonic Boom). Defending an overall line-up might include for some games that are for some time only available in Japan, so it does count for some. Splatoon is very fast and works very well on those small maps that have each their own strategy. Voice chat would give unfair advantages for teams that don’t have trolls. And I can say the OP is an ignorant faggot because of stating that LBX is a pokémon rip-off. Battle people with your customizable robot. Clearly pokémon. There’s a few things Other M actually did better than Prime.
It actually perfected the execution of the screw-attack in the sense that in Prime 2: Echoes I believe, you could only screw attack while in mid-air in a straight path, a lot of time making it difficult to land on platforms. Yet in Other M, you could turn in mid-air while screw-attacking. It was less clunky.
Also, Other M gave the Gravity suit a ‘second use’ other than fluid movement underwater, and that second use although brief and near the end of the game, was when you had to escape part of the bottle ship as it broke apart behind you as the gravity was ‘in use’ as you could tell by the purple glow around it, and protected you from the suction of space from sweeping you away.
That’s actually something Nintendo could experiment w/ more in a new Metroid game in my opinion.
To be fair, it’s kinda impossible to implement a feature like the screw attack in a prime game (because of it’s style) without having to make some sacrifices.
Oh they could have made it work the same way as in the other Metroid games if they actually tried.
1. Because it’s in third person so of course there’s no limitation for Screw Attack.
2. Gravity Suit? Last I checked, it’s merely an anti-gravity effect only used a couple of times, there is no purple suit in sight and no that feature didn’t change shit. Other M didn’t improve a thing for Metroid but did the opposite and Federation Force is making it a lot worse.
It was sakamoto who made the gravity and vary suits just little aura effects because he personally thought they “looked weird”. LMFAO what a massive wanker!

I like having one really big zelda per console as opposed to having 2 smaller ones honestly, though I agree with a lot of things you say like how they should have thought of the ps4 when making the wii u and not using 2008 tech like you say.
Thoroughly enjoying playing through a few games on my PS4 at the moment and ‘Maker’ aside I don’t know when I’ll purchase another Nintendo game. After recent high points like MK8, nothing they have announced recently will find it’s way into my home, it’s a shockingly poor line up.

Xenoblade is the only one you mentioned that holds any real value to me…and even then, it seems inferior to the Wii one as story (the best part about the last one) is sacrificed in favour of being more open world-ish.
Xenoblade looks good to me, but I think I am gonna pass. It has taken far too long to come out and it’s been shown at every E3 for the last few years and the hype is just gone for me. Plus I haven’t played the first one and I really don’t feel like going through the first one and beating it 100% just to play the new one, but I won’t play the new one without doing that cause that’s how I am with games lol. So sadly I am most likely gonna skip it. And I feel bad cause it’s monolith not Nintendo and nintendo is the one who has been pissing me off.

And I can assure you I would be able to 100% the game no problem, I am definitely an expert level gamer. I also have a life and I’m older so I don’t wanna throw my whole life at one game anymore. There is life after games, I promise.

Well, I didn’t play ALBW, so I’m not too familiar with it, hah. Can’t say much about it.
But as someone who hasn’t played ALBW, Triforce Heroes definitely reminds me an awful lot of Four Swords.
ALBW was good and worth playing, but if Link to the Past is your favorite Zelda like it is mine, you’re not gonna have a new favorite after playing we’ll just say that lol. It is great, but Link to the Past is just special. To me it’s the perfect game.

I was interested in ALBW when it was first announced, as I thought it was going to be a remake of ALTTP, but kinda lost interest shortly after when I found out it wasn’t. Of course I still considered giving it a chance, but after hearing from people that it was rather easy, I ended up not buying it.
ALBW was surprisingly refreshing. Loved it.
ALBW was definitely a blast. There was a lot in the game and yes it was pretty much the same world as ALTTP, but with the new gameplay mechanic which really did open up the world even more though it was shattered apart, ironically.

If they thought about the possiblitity of what Sony had planned in 2008, then the NX wouldnt need to be rushed. But Nintendo is slow and stupid when it comes to R&D so dont be surprised if the NX is slightly more powerful than Ps4.

Geese people are judging some of these games when we *realistically* haven’t seen anything from them yet.
From what little I’ve seen, I don’t want. Just give me a core Metroid or Zelda & I’m good. Fortunately, there is a core Zelda game on the horizon. Unfortunately, the core Metroid fanbase is getting a game that makes Other M look like gold.
With no hint of a true Metroid game in sight as every mention of one is quickly followed by “for the NX.”
I’m looking forward to about half of them. I’m getting Mario Maker, AC: Happy Home Designer, Yoshi’s Wooly World and perhaps Star Fox. I’m waiting to see more on the Metroid and Zelda spin-offs before deciding on those, but I’m definitely giving them all fair chance. We haven’t seen all that these games have to offer, so until they’re out it’s not fair to judge them and say you won’t buy them. Wait until they come out and you can see video reviews and gameplay by gamers if what Nintendo releases isn’t convincing you. I feel like sometimes companies don’t show enough in their trailers and E3 presentations to drag people in. Metroid and Zelda looked a bit shallow to me, but I feel like there’s more to them. I think once games start coming out people will change their minds a little.
Don’t bet on it with Triforce Heroes as the king & princess in that game look like something from the filthy CD-i Zelda games. As for Metroid, the chibi shit is unforgivable. When I think of Metroid, I think of Ridley Scott’s Alien franchise, not fucking kiddy bullshit.
I’m pretty stoked for Paper Jam, Starfox, and Zelda (both triforce and the eventual release of ZeldaU.)

2015 sucks on both consoles. I *might* get Star Fox and Xenoblade on Wii U (after only buying Splatoon all year so far), and I *might* get AC house designer on 3DS, even though it seems like it should be a new feature in a mainline AC game and not its own thing. But, really, both lineups are wildly underwhelming
The lineup hasn’t been great, and I’m more worried about what we’ll actually see next year. After “DKC:TP”, “MK8”, “Bayonetta 2”, and “Sm4sh” hitting last year, the only thing that could have pushed 2015 into competitive territory were if “Zelda” hadn’t been pushed back.
