There’s Splatoon Beta Elements In Super Mario Maker

super_mario_maker_splatoon_beta

Who would have thought that Splatoon beta elements would appear in the recently released Super Mario Maker? The find was uncovered by Twitter user NWPlayer123 who had been data mining Super Mario Maker. He came across a number of elements that would have appeared to have come from Splatoon. As you can see from the image above there’s no mistaking some of the weaponry. People have deduced that the two video games run on similar builds, hence why this data has been discovered. You can feast your eyes on the beta elements, above.

  1. Better question, who cares? What does this even have to do with anything. Holy crow Nintendo get it together and release something ffs, these dry spell of nothingness articles are bad. They NEED information to type up NEWS!

  2. is it that they se the same engine, or they where using the same server to store data and they accidently crossed them over

  3. That’s really interesting…. While Nintendo is indeed well known for their optimization, making the best games possible on otherwise not-too-powerful hardware, this is a bit ironic, though I guess it’s okay since the files are just behind-the-scenes stuff that really shouldn’t affect the actual game…

  4. Those are certainly… odd files to find in Mario Maker. Who cares as long as they don’t interfere with its functions though.

  5. This kid I know that works in the electronics department said it hasnt sold one copy since they put it out. The shelf space is packed with the game.

    1. I notice you said “electronics department”
Which makes me think you’re talking about like a Radio shack.
Which more than likely no one even knows your friend’s electronics department sells video games

      1. Radio shacks exist still?

Electronics department could be literally any fucking store dude. Explore the world outside, there’s much much more than where ever there are Radio Shacks left…

And no, try the largest chain store on earth bro.

  6. They were likely using a older build of Super Mario Maker to beta test assets from splatoon, valve and many others do the same thing. There’s entire folders filled with assets from unreleased games in valve games through the views.

  7. I believe at one point Splatoon was considered to have Mario as the character in it, then Miyamoto said NOPE. I’m guessing some how someone at Team Garage accidentally put Splatoon files in Mario Maker, maybe even Miyamoto since he oversaw both games??? Got a bit confused and had a copy of Splatoon files in Mario Maker lol.

    1. Well, Miyamoto did say they could use Mario in Splatoon and that was the idea until the Splatoon team came up with the Inklings.

Maybe I’m reading too into this but it has begun. The success of Splatoon is starting to infect other franchises. Soon, Zelda U will release half complete & we have to wait a few months before the entire game is unlocked by way of free DLC. This explains the “9 day waiting” crap in Super Mario Maker. Scary thoughts are swirling in my head & I hope none of them come true. If they do and my future Zelda, Metroid, Star Fox, Fatal Frame, etc come out incomplete on Day 1 & I have to wait months before the entire game is fully unlocked, I’m blaming every single person that defended Splatoon’s on-disc locked content with the “but it’s free” defense.
