Today Is Nintendo’s 126th Birthday!

happy_birthday_cake

Today is a very special day as it marks the 126th birthday of the Kyoto based company. Nintendo was formed on September 23rd 1889 by Fusajiro Yamauchi and has gone from strength to strength since then with the release of the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1983 to the current craze which is amiibo. We’ve now got a new president, Tatsumi Kimishima, and a brand new system called the NX which is due to be revealed by Nintendo next year. Happy 126th Birthday, Nintendo!

  1. Thanks for the NES, SNES, Game Boy, N64, GCN, DS, Wii and 3DS.

    Thanks for Metroid, F-Zero, Zelda, Mario, Star Fox, Fire Emblem, Sin and Punishment, Golden Sun, Animal Crossing and Donkey Kong.

    Now, please, take a close look at your past, learn the lessons and make justice to your history. Stop the monkey business and be a real, proper gaming company again.

      7. 126 years of up and downs, but now Nintendo is so focus on toys that it’s clear we see the downs. They say “let’s delay and forget about the games and make toys!!!! Lots of toys!” That’s why Starfox was delayed, they were too busy making the Falco Amiibo!!!!! Lol!!!!!

      1. I don’t think so… I don’t think they will be making games forever, but I still think they will be in business. If gaming doesn’t work out, then Nintendo will do another business venture. They used to make cards, hotels, toys, then they got into the console business.

    1. They have been epic for 126 years, my apple computer sees right through your weak windows based hate. Nintendo is blessed. Gaming in reality they are.

    1. Hopefully. At this current rate, they won’t even make it to another 75. Oh who am I kidding. The mobile gaming business will probably keep them alive, anyway, as they sell out & start forcing microtransactions on idiots that don’t realize they are being stiffed.

      1. Even if Nintendo gets out of gaming, they’ll do another business venture. Before they made cards, then hotels, then toys, now it’s consoles. If consoles don’t work out then they’ll probably get into movies, furniture, fashion, etc.

      2. Hmm. Read your comment. Nintendo did cards, toys, hotels, etc. If systems don’t work, they will do what? Make toys and cards, like when? Now you mean? Why? Because their systems aren’t selling? Hmmmmmm?!

      3. We thought mobile was the way to go. We asked Konami and they said the same thing too. That’s why we borrowed the Konami code to stay afloat and not go broke. It produced 99 lives or what we call Amiibo’s

      1. He can’t. Sasori made himself into a puppet. He’ll be stuck with the mind of an idiot for the rest of his life so even when he does turn 4, he’ll still be stupid.

    1. If they are going to continue down this route with the Wii & Wii U, I’d rather they not make it to 150 & just quietly dig a grave & die in it. Going mobile will just ruin them further… even if they do make more money than they ever could while catering to us hardcore gamers. I want to remember Nintendo when they actually cared about us.

  2. A company from Japan formed 126 years ago ressurected gaming to its real heights. Atari the nonsensical company almost destroyed greatness for us all.

    F=ma.

  6. Happy birthday, Nintendo… Now quit being egotistical assholes & actually go back to your roots of catering to hardcore gamers. Enough with the filthy casuals. Let Konami & those other idiots cater those imbeciles.

  7. Honestly ignore the people saying, “Nintendo is doomed!” just because Nintendo won’t make games for their console(s). Nintendo has not been around 126 years for nothing. Nintendo adjusts and do new/more business ventures when things go bad. If gaming doesn’t work out, Nintendo will go into something else.
