Popular North American retailer Walmart has apparently rebranded their dedicated Wii U section under the umbrella, Nintendo. This move has probably been done to free up store shelf space and will now include both Nintendo 3DS and Wii U titles along with the immensely popular amiibo figures. Whether this is store specific remains to be seen, but it seems possible that this will be a nationwide roll-out.

Interesting.
I like your username! :)
I won’t be surprised if one day I just find amiibos on Nintendo shelves.
At first I thought this was going to say, “The Wii U section has been removed”. I was about to yell WHAT?!?!?!
Makes sense to just call it the “Nintendo Section”.
I’m sure glad that amiibo’s aren’t kept behind glass cabinets like the games. That would totally suck.
Where I live they are kept behind glass cabinets.
i’ve seen some wal-marts in colorado that have amiibos behind glass and i guess its a good thing to just lump everything nintendo into one section, they should also do the same with sony and microsoft’s section and call them ‘playstation’ and ‘xbox’, makes finding games of each type easier.
Then you ask them and they say I will get someone to help you. 10 minutes later no one shows up.
At the closest Wal-mart to me, I actually follow them so I can make damn sure they don’t forget about me! lol
Man, that really sucks! I wouldn’t even want to bother buying amiibo’s if I had to track down an employee just to get them to open the stupid glass cabinet. Sometimes I can’t find ANYONE.
Yep, I don’t even bother sometimes because it’s like a ghost town in Walmart.
That makes sense. Especially if the NX is a crossover console.
To be honest, this should have been done ages ago. In fact, there should be a section within Wal-Mart’s electronic section, moderately sized, that does nothing BUT Nintendo products. ESPECIALLY if Nintendo of Americunts are never going to build Nintendo World Stores across the country because they are too cheap & greedy to fork up the dough.
B-but, without designated Wii and Wii U sections, how will the average, uninformed consumer know which is which!? Nintendo’s advertising only does so much.
Oh wait…
Time for the casuals to quit buying shit on impulse & actually look up information instead of blindly buying the next big thing like a little lost sheep.
