Nielsen’s Game Rank Has Created A List Of The Most Anticipated Games For Holiday 2015

With the end of the year fast approaching, the consumer website Nielsen has compiled a list of the most anticipated games for this Holiday season across multiple platforms. The list is created by surveying more than 4,800 gamers aged 7 to 54 between August 24th, 2015 and September 19th, 2015. The titles that are included are games that are due for release between October 1st, 2015 and December 31st, 2015.

Here’s the list below:

For Nintendo, the top two listed games are Yoshi’s Woolly World for the Wii U at 91 percent, and Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden for the 3DS at 88 percent. The percentage, Nielsen explains, “represents the overall anticipation level among gamers on each platform, based on a combination of several key measures (including awareness, purchase interest, consumer rating and others). The percent value shown reflects how strong the overall anticipation level is for the title, relative to the pre-release anticipation levels of all previous titles that released on the platform(s)”.

Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival, Mario Tennis Ultra Smash, and The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes, also all rank highly in the list of anticipated games for the Holiday season. There is however, a notable lack of Xenoblade Chronicles X, which is due for release on the Wii U on December 4th for North America, Europe and Australia.

What do you think of the the Game Rank list? Which titles would you have hoped to see at the top spot?

    1. It’s already released in Europe, but it’s not released until October 16th in North America. The list is compiled from titles released between October 1st, and December 31st. :-)

  1. HollowGrapeJ (The Legendary Video Game Master And Anime Wizard)

Call of Duty Black Ops 3 more anticipated than Fallout 4. O_O

    1. By a whopping 3 percent. And is it really surprising? One of the biggest video game franchises, as well as eSports games, being at the top should not be surprising. Especially considering this year’s CoD actually looks good (to me anyway

      1. Rogue Master XenoRidley X3

Yeah. It was foolish of me & Hollow to expect any different. We truly are overrun with casual & brodude gamers.

          1. HollowGrapeJ (The Legendary Video Game Master And Anime Wizard)

A brodude are those kind of “gamers” that play nothing but NBA, Cod, and Madden. Also, a hardcore brodude might take it a step further and play every brown FPS game in sight. Lmao.

      1. The same it is a niche game but maybe more people have heard about it or are anticipating it more then xenoblade chronicles x and I will be getting both games but I will definitely get xenoblade chronicles X first and put anywhere between I would guess 500 to 1000 hours into the game because I have a lot of stuff to do I break down every rpg I play

  2. Well the list is for US only and not worldwide. Now it make sense xenoblade chronicles X isn’t on the list. The idea look Ok but the criteria look dodgy to me. On the plus side I am glad they separate the system

    1. The original Xenoblade sold more copies in the U.S than any other region combined. So why would it make sense? It makes no sense. I think they intentionally left Xenoblade out… Again, like they do in all of those stupid game awards…

      1. The reason why it sold more in usa than any other regions (if that really the case) come down to price I know for fact that 1 month after being released the game went from £35 to £55 in UK and do believe it the same for Belgium and France (price in €). As it stands now xenoblade chronicles can be found @£99 and so far it’s nearly impossible to find 2nd copy of this game. Now let’s face it JRPG are less popular in Usa than Europe hence my comment.

You did it wrong. You are supposed to put more of a Darth Vader tone to your comment. Oh & instead of disheartening, the word should be disturbing. lol

  3. The lack of Xenoblade just means that it was left out intentionally. Just like it was intentionally left out of all those games awards in the rpg category. There is NO FUCKING WAY that there’s more hype for Mario Tennis or Devils Third over Xenoblade. No fucking way. The people behind this poll are idiots.

Other than Fallout four, Xenoblade is the only game im hyped for this holiday. I guarantee you it will sell better than Devils third. That will prove everything I have said… How could a game with less hype sell more. Hmmm…

    1. Rogue Master XenoRidley X3

Probably because Nintendo is barely saying a damn thing about Xenoblade Chronicles X. Meanwhile, Mario Tennis is no doubt having a lot of commercials on television while Devil’s Third is no doubt still being defended by Itagaki. Oh & let’s not forget Nintendo’s advertising plan this gen has been fucking horrendous unless it’s Mario, a kiddy game like Splatoon, or a casual game like amiibo Festival. I guarantee that game will get hyped by Nintendo with ads & commercials to high fucking heaven. GOT TO GET THOSE CASUALS, AFTER ALL!!!

  4. Not excited for any of these Nintendo exclusives except maybe Woolly World. Much more excited for Fatal Frame and Fast Racing Neo. I know they’re not getting physical releases, but they should be.

    1. Rogue Master XenoRidley X3

If those games are awesome & worth holding onto for many, many, many years, I’m okay with digital only. But I’m not a selfish Nintendo fan so it sucks for those that prefer physical.

  5. Rogue Master XenoRidley X3

What the fuck!? Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival in second place as the most anticipated game this holiday season!? Excuse me while I go throw up.

  6. Rogue Master XenoRidley X3

I’d rather have a wrestling game filled with Nintendo characters than Mario Tennis. ESPECIALLY since the Wii U isn’t getting any WWE games. Then again, this won’t be an issue for long for me when I get a PS4 in the next few months.
