The team at GameXplain have posted a hands-on preview of the upcoming Wii U title, Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival. The clip talks you through what to expect from the game’s features and also shows over twenty minutes of gameplay footage.
The title has 12 different boards to play on, one for every month in the year, and you can choose whichever you like at any time. Each board has a theme dependant on the month it is based on, and each turn on the board counts for one day in the month – meaning that particular game is over after the month passes.
Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival is due to be released in November this year. You can check out the preview clip over on GameXplain’s YouTube channel.
Looks like I won’t be buying this after all. Cards and amiibo are needed? Screw that. I know I get cards too but I don’t want the cards at all
Wow, Nintendo hasn’t said a word about this game since E3… SAY SOMETHING!
And it’s out in a few weeks like
my thoughts is that they only did this game to fills some gaps on holidays games.
Not that anyone will even be interested in actually playing it. Or playing it until the next game in 2016.

this game is a giant joke. It should be free if it requires Amiibo to play
I think it is.

But for some reason the bundle is 60$ which is kind of a rip off cuz the amiibos bundled would only total up to about 26-28$ meaning they are charging more than 30$ for the physical game. Not a very good game at that.
*Obligatory “Think about the collectors!” comment here*
So basically, it’s similar to Mario Party, but without the mini-games, and nothing buy Happening Spaces? Sounds shallow. I’m very skeptical about this game. But still more interested than I was in Happy Home Designer. Joan the turnip seller…….man, I always thought Joan was SO pointless in the regular Animal Crossing games. Like, why fool with buying and reselling turnips when you can make SO much more bells in other ways?
And I’m sick of reading comments that say “you have to buy amiibo to play this? Well, I won’t be getting this game after all”. How DUMB can anyone be? Does that many people really not have ANY amiibo? It’s called “Amiibo Festival”. HELLO! Man, just buy some Animal Crossing amiibo cards if you have to. They’re only $5.99 for 6 cards (in North America). I don’t understand people’s feelings on this.
If this game does well in NintenD’OH!’s eyes, I can see it now. “You want a Metroid Prime game for Wii U? Well here it is! Metroid Prime: amiibo Wars! Enjoy this awesome new party game! Invite your friends & family as you take on the Space Pirates & Metroid Prime/Dark Samus in an intergalactic war spanning across 5-7 planets!”
