Japan: Wii U Sells 10K, Nintendo 3DS Sells 21K

While Nintendo is receiving a barrage of positive financial news, they have managed to take Japanese markets by storm. This week, 8 of the 10 top selling games are found on Nintendo platforms — mostly the Nintendo 3DS. While The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes is the best-selling game of the week, it still is under-performing in the context of other Zelda games. Talking hardware, nearly every Nintendo system fell in regards to sales by a small margin.

New Nintendo additions to the list include The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force geroes (at number 1) and PriPara Mezase! Idol Grand Prix No. 1! (at number 2). In the top 20 games, Nintendo 3DS and Wii U hold a commanding 12 titles (10 and 2, respectively). For more information, check out the full chart below:

  1. Wow… I never thought I would see the day that the Xbox One would get over 1K of sales, something really bad must have happened in Japan for all the other consoles to lower their sales and the Xbox One rise its sales… scary….

    1. Vita had been outselling wii u and PS4 for a long time in japan. It wasn’t until the price drop that PS4 was consistently selling more than the Vita in japan.

    2. the PS4 is no Wii by this time the
Wii had sold over 44 million that’s why it got a price drop cause they are scared the WiiU is gaining ground in Japan while the Xbox is gaining grown in the US and Nintendo along with the WiiU and the 3DS owns the Japanese market it will be like a domino effect coming from Japan all the way to the US the PS4 is done for, thank god.

    1. I don’t need to own the console to know that the gamepad is a gimmick and not implemented well and there are so few games I’d want to play that it would be collecting dust for 3 months at a time.
