Pokken Tournament Introduces A Brand-New Dark Form Of Mewtwo

A brand-new “dark form” of Mewtwo is featured in Pokken Tournament. The arcade version of the fighting game apparently introduced this new version of the psychic-type Pokemon via a surprise update. Dark Mewtwo seems to be a special boss in the game, complete with a new menacing look and a different set of moves that makes it pose as an even bigger threat to its opponents. You can see gameplay footage of the Pokemon in action in the video above. Pokken Tournament is currently playable at select arcades and is scheduled to arrive on Wii U in early 2016.

  1. I don’t really like the pace of the fighting. Do all of the characters play like that? it looks kinda slow like just a bunch of powers being thrown around. Of course it’s just my impression I always try the games out anyway

    1. The player was playing it really safe and trying to cheese the AI, there are lots of videos of VS matches on youtube if you wanna get a better idea of the game’s pacing, most matches do seem faster but varies greatly depending on the characters, it looks alright for me but I have very little experience with 3D fighters myself so you’re better watching the gameplay yourself.

  2. Imagine if this was a launch title?
Sure the Wii U hardware was underpowered but Nintendo failed in the software dept.

I’ll definitely be getting this game. looks and plays great.

    1. WiiU is not underpowered mate it’s just a different architecture and to exploit the edram ect takes longer and is time consuming also harder in general to develop for but under powered NO…..If wiiu was underpowered then many games would not even be on the console, remember when Crysis got ported on early devkits at 720p NATIVE at equivalent of high settings on pc ?? exactly….also Zelda wiiu look remarkable and proves along with tons of games that wiiu is under appreciated.

      1. No Mathew the sad truth is that it’s not as powerful as the Xbone and PS4. Now it’s not as weak as everyone says, like it’s only just barely more powerful than the Xbox 360 which is bull crap. I have a 360, a PS3, a PS4 and a Wii U, and the Wii U slaps the 360 and PS3 in the face. It’s about say… Halfway between PS3 and PS4 maybe a little more powerful? But I’m no graphics whore, I still play my Wii U the most out of all my systems, and It’s tied with PS4 (maybe even a little ahead) in my favorite system this gen. I do hope that the NX is more powerful than the Xbone and PS4 though, for both graphics whore consumers, 3rd party devs, and just because I won’t say no to good graphics.

        1. Yes your right it’s between PS3 and PS4 of course the Wiiu is more powerful than PS3 the graphics are better and having top exclusives it’s only problem was the PS4, seriously I have PS4 don’t play with it anymore, I’m playing more of the Wiiu I’m to much into hyrule warriors and smash bros and of course bayonetta 2 my fave lady game.

      2. It’s underpowered yes that’s true what you are saying, some games look and play better than the next gen consoles and amount of games on Wiiu are quality not quantity, Wiiu is a next gen consoles and has different hardware compare to other consoles, it was really made for Nintendo gaming the most still other games are welcome.
