Chrono Trigger is regarded as one of the all-time great JRPG’s so it comes as no surprise that a fan has recreated the game using the stunning state of the art Unreal Engine 4. YouTube user Praetus has recreated the iconic Millennial Fair and as you would expect the end results are gorgeous. The user says that all textures are hand painted using Photoshop and 3D Coat. Check it out in the video, above!

It’s too bad Square Enix won’t get the point to do a HD remastering for Chrono Trigger… Instead they just ported (poorly from online reviews) it to smartphones and called it a day.
I feel you on that!!! What SquareEnix need to do us “find this guy, hire him & work on this version of Chrono Trigger on next gen consoles!”
Now this is how I want a Chrono Trigger remake done. Just take the original game & convert everything into 3D with in-game graphics for every single cutscene, not just a select few cutscenes like Chrono Trigger DS did. Change absolutely nothing else as nothing else needs changing. Maybe a post-game story featuring Magus that leads into a sequel to Chrono Trigger that takes place in a separate dimension from Chrono Cross but nothing else.
Not digging it. It’s a title that needs to remain untouched, just like old Zelda titles.
There is a HUGE difference between recreating the game and recreating just 1 map. Freaking news everywhere saying the guy is making the game in Unreal Engine, when he isn’t. He just did a map and that’s it.
