Massive Queues For The Launch Of Monster Hunter X In Japan

Monster Hunter X has launched in Japan, and as we all know, it is a massive franchise in the country and it shows absolutely no sign of slowing down. Judging from images posted via Famitsu there were huge queues of people lining up to get their hands on the Nintendo 3DS exclusive. It will certainly be interesting to see Nintendo hardware sales in the next Media Create post!

It’s mostly guys, but there are also some girls in the crowd. Interesting. Probably a higher concentration of girls than what would be reflected in American event.

  2. It has always looked like this in Japan. Women there really love their RPGs and MMOs there. Even with Japan’s crazy opinions on gender roles and expectations. I doubt MoHun will ever get popular enough in the west to create long cues tho. Neither with men of women. I’m not here to complain tho. Whatcha gonna do anyway.

  4. I actually preordered the game online here in japan so that they’ll just send it to my home and I wouldn’t have to line up for crazy queues like this. But yesterday (on the day of launch) I went sightseeing to this place that’s kinda far from the center of Tokyo (which I consider to be Shinjuku or Shibuya since they’re the most crowded) and found out that in their obscure yet kinda big electronics store they still have 4 remaining copies of the game. It was already noon by then, and the price was also cut into the preorder price… I would’ve just bought the game right there if I hadn’t actually preordered it, and having to wait for the game to be sent to my home…
