Nintendo Won’t Have A Booth At GDC 2016

It would seem as though Nintendo hasn’t booked a booth at next year’s Games Developer Conference. The news is slightly surprising given that some people had expected the NX to be revealed around January-March time before E3 2016. GDC would have been the perfect place to show off the new device to consumers and industry types, but they don’t have a booth. This doesn’t mean that they won’t be at the event but simply they won’t have a large floor presence. They only have three small Business Meeting Rooms in the Business Centre. They could opt for a small booth, but it seems unlikely. No doubt we shall hear about their plans in due course.

  1. I think this kind of confirms that Nintendo is waiting until next year’s E3 to fully unveil the NX in an attempt to take away as much attention from Sony and Microsoft as they possibly can. The NX must really be something special if Nintendo opted not to show it at the GDC. They must want the NX to be showcased on a very grand scale and in gaming, there’s no more grander scale than E3. I can’t wait to see what it is

        1. yeah but some people thought that SEGA will never make another console in the future because some employees are really layoff after what happen in the 90s.

  2. Why is everybody expecting the announcement of the NX in January-March when Nintendo already said that they will tlk about it (TALK ABOUT IT) in E3 2016??? is like the people expecting Zelda U in E3 2015 when Nintendo said that they wouldn’t talk about it, I mean, WTH!?

              1. To answer your question nintendo has not said anything about revealing the NX at e3. All nintendo has said is they will talk more about the NX in 2016. The short version to your question is NO.

          1. No, they just said 2016. People just like to assume they meant E3, and then go around an spout “facts” that they no nothing about. It could be at E3, hell it could be ANY time of year!

                  1. This is his exact quote: ‘As proof that Nintendo maintains strong enthusiasm for the dedicated game system business, let me confirm that Nintendo is currently developing a dedicated game platform with a brand-new concept under the development codename “NX”. It is too early to elaborate on the details of this project, but we hope to share more information with you next year.’

    1. There was a rumor reported on by this website (http://bit.ly/1YirOej) that the NX was going into mass production towards the end of Q1 2016. Probably not true, but if it is, they’d have to at least announce it prior to that… unless it was one of those Sega Saturn announcements where they announced it and revealed that it was on sale that night.

      1. The thing with rumors is they are always false until proven true. Since nintendo will not confirm this and they definitely shouldn’t, it is false. All rumors are false until they become fact.

  3. Thats good and smart.you dont want spies to go to your booth collect information and take it back to their R&D if Nintendo isnt going to release the NX next year.

  4. yeah i guess they wont have there own booth next year because i was thinking the NX will be release in 2017 that was i was hoping because next year they will show a new Zelda Wii U trailer by the time the NX is shown say i wonder if SEGA will have there booth for sonic’s 25th anniversary game next year since they will talk more about it early next year.

    lets hope it might on every home consoles.

  5. Jaded Ridley X3 {I'm not whining, you suckers... *cough* ..poor souls! I've just been driven insane by Nintendo failing me one too many times this gen!}

    Meh…
