Check Out The New Shantae: Half-Genie Hero Kickstarter Update

The team at WayForward have published a new Kickstarter update for Shantae: Half-Genie Hero. It started off by announcing that the final Half-Genie Hero backer enemy milestone has been reached. The enemy was created by a fan and was named Tuki.

The developers proceeded to talk about the game’s current status. WayForward explained that their current goal is Pre-Alpha. They consider this when the player can experience the game from beginning to end with a few temporary objects being placed here and there. Two chapters and some rough spots are still being worked on, so the game is still roughly two months from reaching this phase. After some further fine-tuning, the game will reach Alpha. Some polishing will follow before the game reaches Beta and then the First Party Submission phase.

The update wasn’t all about Half-Hero Genie. WayForward went on to announce that the Wii U version of Shantae: Risky’s Revenge Director’s Cut is “moving into submissions at Nintendo of America and Nintendo of Europe”. The Xbox One and Playstation 4 versions of Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse are in the final stretch and are expected to reach North America and Europe “sometime in March”. They didn’t give an exact release date, but the window of “late March to early April” was tossed around.
