The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD is finally coming to the Wii U next month and most publications have already gotten their hands on it. The informative folks at GameXplain have produced yet another comparison video comparing the HD remake to the original Wii and GameCube version. While not a whole lot has changed visually just playing it in HD will be good enough for most. You can check out the new gameplay additions in the post, right here, but for now check out the comparison video!
Video: Here’s Another Zelda: Twilight Princess HD Head-To-Head Gameplay Comparison

-||The characters look “worse” without the yellow light effect||-
I agree. The Yellow effect is the twilight effect. This is what made twilight princess um twilight fucking princess.
Could have been much better
No bloom = improvement.
I don’t know if it’s due to my nostalgia googles, but I find the bloom lighting very suitable for TP…
Or are you simply being ironic with regard to the lazy remake…?
I’m dead serious. The bloom was there just to hide the muddy textures of the original. This version doesn’t need it, it’s better off without it.
Ah, I see. Yeah, the GCN/Wii hardware limitations had to be overcomed with such effect. But, overall, I think Nintendo could have done a better job with this remaster…
They could have remade it instead of remastering, too. What matters is if you’re interested in the final product or not. I know I am, at least.
Exactly. I’ll pass it since I have it already on the Wii.
Nintendo isn’t MAKING THIS. Tantalus is. Sheesh nobody knows anything these days.
Whatever, dude!
Yah, I remember u telling me that, but my or — rather, everyone’s point still stands about the improvement.
~*As I said before on the other article, no excuse for giving us a lazy remake.*~
Already reserved this game for my brother.
Even though TP is my least favorite 3D Zelda, I’ll probably play it again just because it looks better, and they fixed a few issues I had with the original. (Finding Poes was a b*tch in the original)
Also, the gamepad was so convenient for Wind Waker.
I look forward to using it again on this game.
Wow, I didn’t mean this comment to be a reply. How the hell did that happen? haha
Same for me. It’s the only 3D Zelda that I’ve never replayed, so I’m looking forward to a second, harder run.
Looks better? Guess we shall agree to disagree.
Yeah. The original version of TP has some very ugly textures. They fixed a lot of that here.
But hey, if you think it looks better that’s fine. I’m not gonna try to sway you lol.
This game looks miles better than the original. Especially ground textures. Before they were just green and brown blurry blobby textures, and now you can see grass textures, and little pebbles in the sand, and the rockyness of the ground. My only complaint is that they didn’t updated links hair that much, it looks kinda ugly. Also you guys should see the differences in the stonework of this game. I would attach some pics but I don’t know how. Does someone know?

I posted pics in my my new blog that are good examples of the changes in twilight princess HD. Well minus the bit of blurry YouTube compression they are.
I didn’t know how to link you directly to it so I did that^.
Ah here’s the link.

And seeing all the pebbles and such on the ground improves what exactly? Exactly, nothing. Other then your eye’s being happier it changes nothing.
-||And certainly doesn’t justify the price either||-
Still not really enough to warrant a purchase for me.
Game looks….dimmer, I like the glow on Link’s face more then it is now.
I really do want to be more impressed with this than I actually am. I honestly don’t remember liking Twilight Princess that much when I played it on the GC, but I don’t remember hating it either. Still, I can’t really get invested in HD-ing a game that didn’t neeeeeeed it. Super Mario 64 neeeeeeeds it. You want my $70 Big N? Super Mario 64 HD. With the flying mechanics fixed. And Luigi. And a better bonus for collecting all the stars.
